Could suck, could rock. All depends on which of EA's sub companies do it. The two companies I'd like to see do it, are the guys that handle Battlefield at DICE or the guys that do CRYSIS at Cryotek. I think both engines would work amazingly well with the GI Joe property and would work within the descriptions EA has already given us. I just with they would do a PC version, I'm currently playing the CRYSIS series on PC and am blown away. The CRYSIS engine would work well with the "tech/nano/whatever" Suits from the movie.

"We want a movie, we want a movie, we want a movie." turns into "This movie sucks without ever seeing it!"

"We want a video game, we want a video game, we want a video game" turn into "This game sucks without ever being told anything beyond the original press release."

C'mon guys, try to be optimistic. It could be a blast. X2: Wolverine's Revenge had its moments. I've heard that trampling all over a city in Transformers is fun. I don't need "game of the year" material to have a fun time playing a video game. It's not like the Lego games are the deepest, most thought-provoking games out there. They're just fun, and that seems to suit the majority of people that have played them. Hopefully, this will be fun, too.

HH, 90 percent of games that suck?

GTA4, sucks, yeah, its violent, but sucks out loud.

Halo3, want to talk about repetitive game play? But who cares how sucktastic it is, its popular.

Fable 2, does molyneaux get a kick out of underperforming with each installment?

Mass Effect, well, not the worst, but not what it was hyped to be. the most linear, non linear game ever.

And these are just the games that were playable. outside of lego games and the endless dance of FPS games, most consoles have nothing going on, lol.

And raps, PC games aren't bread and butter anymore. Comparitively, it is much easier to engineer games to work on one set up of hardware than the near infinite variety of PC systems, so we end up with a lot of companies moving there, which suits me fine, buying a new computer every other year just to play games was not good, :)

But I'll probably buy this joe game, again, shooting at actual vipers counts a lot in my book.

Also, movie games? Lego movie games rock, hulk rocked, godfather, good stuff!

Hello EA, this is your bread and butter calling - You missed us.

Boo indeed. Then again this is the same company that decided to drop the PC version of Madden football last year. That proved to be a dumb move due to backlash it caused (it's coming back in PC form in 2009). The big problem with PC games is still piracy.

I agree with the above. I have the Transformers movie game for my PC and it's pretty good.

But buying a new platform that you can only use for a single purpose every 5 is ok? ;-)

(yes, I know they also play Blueray and cds and crap, but I already have something for that.)

The difference with PC games is that there's no licensing back to the platform owners. They generally make more money - and money is the sweet delicious creamery butter of the gaming industry.

Conversely, as Pete pointed out, piracy of the PC versions is rampant.

Luckily there's no such thing as a modded Xbox, Wii or Nintendo DS that can allow the playing of ROMs - so EA is golden on that front. :shifty:

I'll get the game. I'll play the game. But I stand by my boo on the no PC version. And If I ever finish Fallout 3 I may go out and pick up Transformers too.

If Dice were doing this, which I'm almost certin they are not, I would shut my mouth and happly go preorder it right now. Cryotek not so much, but I would still be somewhat pumped.

EA does hold the license for Mercenaries and Battlefield, I could see this maybe being interesting. The only thing I really don't like about Mercs 2 is the zoom on the sniper rifle freezes sometimes.

Spider-Man 2 was pretty good for the PS2.

Could not agree more.

For those of you who were GI Joe fans in the 90's, do you remember what a famine there was for GI Joes or action figures in general? I think some people just don't realize how good they have it right now. You have a successful 25th Anniversarry line, numerous other 1:18 scale toylines, a big-budget GI Joe Movie, video game...it doesn't get better than this. Get excited...even if you aren't going to buy everything. Enjoy this time, because it could very well go away in the near future.

You'd be surprised I've seen it done on the Wii (Granted their older games) and DS along with the older PS2's. Console games aren't as safe as you think, haha.

I'm also disappointed there is no PC version.
Hasbro sent their lawyers after the BF42 mod people & now this is what we get instead? No PC version at all.
That also means no one making mods like classic characters or vehicle models.

every five? dang, that is a good point. actually I use the 360 as a netflix box more than a game system, :(

Seconded on the fallout 3, best game I've played in a very very long time, been playing for months and just yesterday someone says "you played as freddy kruger?" naturally I hadn't.

Thats my hope with a joe sandbox game, even if only a few characters are played, others can be emulated.

Wha Wha Wha? How does one do this? Are their other unlockable or selectable characters?

I've been staying away from the cheats, and just lying, stealing and evilly plundering away at the wasteland and making a small collection of miniguns that I keep on the floor of my Trailer.
