I love the original Raven, don't get me wrong, but it's so huge and cumbersome (especially since it only holds 3 figures) that it's tough to display and even tougher to "play" with. I LOVE this smaller, more managable size.

Why is this called a Night Raven if it's not going to be a Night Raven?

My issue is the look....See how far the windscreens go forward, It looks like there'd be room in that cockpit for about 4 people...Look at where the seat will actualy swing up to...The Strato Viper won't even be able to look out the side of the cockpit...his head will be right under the skylight.

The Design of the Jet is clearly larger than a small single seat fighter...it looks like it's supposed to be like the size of a Concord.

Why not Call it a Hurricane because we all know the Hurricane is superior to the Night Raven is every way.

In all seriousness, I'm gonna use that Night Raven as a Firefox: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MiG-31_Firefox.jpg , which is how I was using the Night Raven anyway - but the new one fits much better, I think.

Because, unlike other small vehicles like the Firebat or Sharc, the mini Night Raven has proportions that look like it should be bigger. It's too narrow at the points it narrows, and the pilot's seat looks gigantic when compared to the rest of the plane. Sure, it's probably the same size as the Firebat cockpit in reality, but perspectively, it looks misshaped.

By my best guess it looks like it's about 19" - 21" or so long. I know there was a list somewhere that gave the actual sizes of these items, but I can't find it. It had the size of the HQ too.

It looks awesome sized to me. But what do I know? I think the Rattler is well proportioned. ;)

If they had simply made this jet a single seater fighter/recon type plane I'd be cool with it's size.

Instead they "Resolute-ized" the design of the original Night Raven and then shrunk it down to tiny size. That just doesn't work for me.

I'll agree that while awe-inspiring, the original Night Raven is almost useless as far as play value goes because of it's size. However to just shrink that design down to a 1/24 SR-71 with a 1/18 cockpit makes no sense.

Also, when did Nova go British? Windscreen? Care for a spot of tea, guvnah? :monocle:

You could always use the new Night Raven as a Drone on the old Night Raven with the other Drone on top....... :rotfl:

You laugh, but if I got one of these, I'm pretty sure I'd try it as a drone.

Again, I don't need this to be as big as the original. There's a middle ground. A bit bigger and it would make a perfectly serviceable Firefox-type plane.

Now, I'm also allowing for the possibility that the camera is playing tricks and it's actually much more appropriately sized for the pilot than it appears. Guess I'll have to wait until someone gets an early release version and snaps some pics from different angles.

My gripe is the added sound & light effects make it look too bulky to be a decent jet.

The Night Raven is REALLY dissapointing to me. It looks great, but looks barely bigger than the Sigma 6 2.5" Firebat. I'll still get one, but I wish it was at least 25% bigger. Strato Viper repaint looks good.

I agree with VL. It is not the size issue for me though. Its the design concept of the craft. It looks like they took the cockpit of the original NR and slapped it on the Sigma 6 Firebat tail. Just seems off to me.

I don't think trying to compare that Night Raven to the original is fair; the original night raven is clearly an SR-71 derivative, however this Night Raven only has some of the flavor, otherwise it really isn't a copy of any real aircraft. If anything, it's a new version of the Sigma 6 Firebat. From that perspective, I think it works just fine. Not sure if it is a "must have" vehicle for me, but I haven't seen the movie yet.

The Cobra Hummer H2 is going to be the "must have" on my list.

Still not sure on the movie figures, but the vehicles really seem to be something to look forward to. The way you put the pilot into the Night Raven is just so cool compared to how it's done on most of the aircraft that it makes it must have for the fun factor. Ha ha, and it will be nice for Cobra to have something where some troopers can ride inside instead of hanging off the back bumper.

Got to say I'm pretty darn happy that Cobra isn't getting ignored so it will be cool stuff for both the Joes and Cobra.
