Mark Bellomo will once again be in attendance at the 2009 Canadian G.I. Joe Convention!

Mark Bellomo has been amassing his collection of 20,000+ action figures and 100,000+ comic books since the late 1970's. He has written over 150 articles for such publications as ToyFare, Lee's Toy Review, Tomart's Action Figure Digest, and most recently for Toy Shop Magazine, where he served a lengthy tenure as their Action Figure Columnist.

Mark has also authored a number of books on the hobby of action figure collecting: Warman's Action Figure Field Guide, Transformers: Identification & Price Guide, Warman's Field Guide to Transformers, and Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe: 1982-1998.

He is currently at work on the following books: the second edition of The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe: 1982-1994 (April 22, 2009 release), Timeless Toys of the 1980's (Christmas 2009), The Vintage Star Wars Identification & Price Guide (Spring 2010), and The Ultimate Guide to He-Man, She-Ra, and the Masters of the Universe (Summer 2010).

While at the Canadian Joe Con, Mark will be conducting a presentation - seating is limited.

(Quote from Mark "I have some artwork that people might like to see..."

More information to come at a later date.

Cool stuff, as I met this guy and he's absolutely one of the most interesting "action figure authority" guys that I've ever met. Very approachable and interesting. It'll be cool to see him there.

I saw on Amazon that there was going to be a second edition of the Ultimate Guide to GIJOE. Hopefully they will fix the errors in it, specifically some of the cross references from the back.

Lol. Did you read the quote?

I'm sure the second edition will correct errors and expand on product.

I'll buy one without a doubt

Yes, that is why I said, quote " I saw on Amazon..."

If I hadn't read the initial post in this thread containing that blurb you just posted, I wouldn't have even commented on it in the first place.

I was stating it matter of factly. :D

I have had the second edition in my wish list on Amazon since the beginning of December.

I hope so too. I plan to get one as soon as it shows up at Borders. My first edition is getting rather dog-eared from use.

All text errors have been corrected. There is a longer "forward" to the book with lots of cool new info and every single vehicle image was re-shot with a professional photographer last August. I helped Mark and the photographer during the shoot. It took two full 14 hour days to photograph everything. There's also going to be a few really cool surprises inside the book but I've been sworn to secrecy. All in all, it's going to be a superior book to the first edition.

As an added bonus there's going to be some behind the scenes footage of the photo shoot that I filmed at the time. This footage will appear online sometime before the book's release. I'll post on various boards when it's up. It's still in the editing stage.

Cool! I can't think of which ones it was off the top of my head, but I think it was referring to a figure when it was a vehicle or vice-versa.

That's also good news. One thing that bugged me (okay the second thing) was the lack of a second pic for some of the vehicles. Some needed more than just a top view or side view. I didn't know we had anyone on the board that close to the author (in that position).

Hey, congrats! I've never met Mark, but we've communicated online fairly often. He'll be great for the Convention!
