Haven't seen them yet, but I really wanna get all of them. Especially Duke. I also hope the next line is all Resolute in order to get more figures. Like Snake Eyes, Lowlight, etc.

The 90 degree bend at the elbows is a big win on the new resolute figures.

I HATE the elbows that don't bend at all like on my recent General Hawk. :verymad:

The more I've played with these, the more i've come to appreciate the elbow bend, and also that they have more realistic/tactical elbow pads, as opposed to the WTF sweatbands that are on roadblock and gung ho's arms. And every 25th figure remade using them.

I have not been too impressed with the 25th line overall. Bad proportions, limited pose-ability, repaints, repaints, repaints, the whole “collectible” angle, have left me cold. To date I have purchased only a handful that I thought were actually cool. But all that may change with the new Resolute subline(?) !!!!!!!!

I LOVE the Resolute figs!!!! I found all 3 of them (Duke, Trooper, Commander) at Target today, and they have rekindled my passion for new Joes!! Here is my (highly subjective) opinion on why the Resolute figs leave the other 25th figs in the dust:

1. They can actually hold their weapons in a natural pose!!! (What a revolutionary concept, I know, huh Hasbro?) Yes, Duke and the Trooper’s arms bend 90 degrees, actually, even MORE than 90 degrees, so they can hold their rifles 2-handed in a nice, natural, realistic way with ease. Honestly, WHY is this so hard to do with ALL the figures?? I just got Blowtorch, and his arms barely bend, so the whole swivel wrist thing is lost on a figure like that. So he is going around “flamethrowing” one-handed. Just stupid.

2. Realistic proportions! All the figs have natural sized heads, they are not pin-headed circus freaks! Their shoulders sit naturally on their torsos, it is not like they have mutant bowling-ball shoulder syndrome so many of the initial 25th figs were cursed with. To be fair, the one proportion problem I have with the Resolute figs is their teeny-tiny feet! If that old urban myth is true, there are a lot of unhappy women in the Joeverse!

3. They look realistic and plausible, something I like in my Joes. I know that is not everyone’s cup of tea, but to me, that is what Joe used to be about when it was really cool.

4. They are original designs, not straight-up rehashes of the originals. Again, some people want carbon copies of the original figs, but I have most of the vintage Joes already, I don’t need to buy another (usually inferiorly designed) version.

If this is what we can expect for the rest of the Resolute line, I may just start collecting seriously again. I am excited and can’t wait to see more!! Finally, Joe is back! Move out troops!

I don't get it, everyone's raving abou the new Duke when in fact his head is larger than Breaker's and nobody seems to notice. Even the new Commander's head especially with the new helmet is larger than Breaker's.

I think the larger heads are working on the Resolute figures because they managed to make the bodies look more bulked out without really changing the actual size of the figures that much. Some of the early 25th heads just look tiny on the Resolute bodies so there must have been a decision somewhere to increase the size of the heads so they wouldn't seem so tiny.

On the bright side that means some of the big head figures can be updated with a head swap on to a Resolute figure to get rid of the big head syndrome.

Breaker's head looked big atop the plain body of the vintage uniforms, that sweaterneck torso just isn't wide enough to let Breaker's head look right. But his head looks just fine on wider torsos like Copperhead's and Destro's.

Well if they got everything right on a figure then they couldn't turn around and sell us the same characters again when the line has been improved yet again :D

It's all an evil plot to keep up buying toys.

My take on both complaints is that it didn't affect my use of figure for customization. Maybe I'd have a different take if I was buying the Resolute Duke as is. But the one I got I already had a different head for, and I didn't like the style of the feet, whether the size was right or not, and I quickly replaced them with Beachhead feet. with simple mods, this is easily my favorite base figure for customs. If all the Resolute figs have the same feel as this one, I'll be excited.

I know you are joking, but for the past year, I too have semi-seriously suspected Hasbro of taking a page from the Apple school of marketing (iphone, ipod, i-etc.) and intentionally putting out inferior products that are then "fixed" 6 mos later. But that is a whole other discussion...

Yea I was joking because sometimes I get that same feeling. Looking over at things like Hasbro's Star Wars line where a figure gets improved just so you have to buy the same character again almost makes you wonder if they aren't doing that with their other lines like the Joes. Being able to laugh makes me feel a little less paranoid or crazy with it.
