Cobra Commander's helmet is glued on. Mine was glued on at a bad angle. Had to get taken off, now it doesn't stay on.

I popped the head off and then carefully used an x-acto knife to get the helmet off. I didn't cut anything, just used the blade to 'peel/pry' open the helmet to work it loose. Took less than 30 seconds to separate it-carefully...

Then I put the head back on and then put the helmet on the head like a bonnet. Looks like Cobra just invaded Walnut Grove... :rotfl:

This could be a "just me" issue, but the cobra trooper & commander i have are victims of paint slop. Like on CC's helmet stripe.

Mine has a little paint slop.

They can actually hold their weapons in a natural pose!!! (What a revolutionary concept, I know, huh Hasbro?) Yes, Duke and the Trooper’s arms bend 90 degrees, actually, even MORE than 90 degrees, so they can hold their rifles 2-handed in a nice, natural, realistic way with ease. Honestly, WHY is this so hard to do with ALL the figures?? I just got Blowtorch, and his arms barely bend, so the whole swivel wrist thing is lost on a figure like that. So he is going around “flamethrowing” one-handed. Just stupid.

This is my single biggest issue(s) with the new line and my diminished interest in them. In working with some of these figures, I get very frustrated with the limited options they have being armed going into battle. So I picked up Duke, the only one I saw, due primarily to his arms looking like they had a greater range of motion. Haven't opened him yet, but I'm glad to hear I was right!

So my bats vs resolute, :)

No holsters for pistols/knives. Ok hasbro, really? You just proved you could do this. Repeatedly. Why stop?

I am of two minds on the working holsters issue. It is a very cool feature in theory, but in practice, unfortunately it leaves a lot to be desired most of the time. What I mean is, they just don't look right. Take a look at the Wild Bill figure. Those don't look like holsters, it looks like he glued 2 big bricks to his thighs. They just look horrid on the figure, jutting out like that. Same with the Duke/Flint legs. At this scale it is hard to make working holsters look real. Even the Para-Viper, which is a total kick-ass figure, look at his knife sheath. It again looks like he glued a brick to his ankle.

There are a few figures who pull off the working holster/looking good design, such as Gold head Destro (maybe cause his gun is tiny?) or the new sculpt Barrel Roll and Gung-Ho.

That is why I don't mind Resolute Duke's design. It looks cool and real not like he strapped a toaster to his pants. Until they can consistently design realistic looking working holsters, I actually prefer this approach. Honestly, just look at Wild Bill again. His thighs are almost as wide as his shoulders!

But, I do understand that it is a cool play feature

the holster problem comes down to the fact that we KNOW they CAN get it right. Even 25th Gung Ho's holster works well and isn't too huge. And the holster on the snake eyes webbing works, as does Beachhead's holster. Yeah, the Duke holster fails for MANY reasons, but when you know it can be done right it makes the failures even more glaring. I agree it looks good on Resolutee Duke, but it still seems like a step back in my eyes, for an otherwise AWESOME figure.

I just found a CC today and damn if he isn't the best CC Hasbro has ever done. I'm not kidding. Especially once you trim off the front of his skirt so he's not so limited in mobility, he's just awesome! Oddly though, mine did not have a glued on helmet. He is using the same head as the BEST OF Battle Pack CC, right?

I got my wave 13 yesterday.
The Resolute figures are amazing.
Duke is the best Duke ever made.
The trooper is how Cobra troops should look today. he even sports sculpted hair, not just paint.
Cobra Commander is cool too. He has a conqueror feel to him with his cloak.
I can't wait to see the other Resolute figures.
I hope the new arms will keep this quality and mobility.

2. Realistic proportions! All the figs have natural sized heads, they are not pin-headed circus freaks! Their shoulders sit naturally on their torsos, it is not like they have mutant bowling-ball shoulder syndrome so many of the initial 25th figs were cursed with. To be fair, the one proportion problem I have with the Resolute figs is their teeny-tiny feet! If that old urban myth is true, there are a lot of unhappy women in the Joeverse!

I got messing with some head swaps to see how lazy I can get and to work a way into not waiting for some character to hit the Resolute line. Wow do some figures ever have tiny heads once you put them on either Duke or the Troopers body.

Some of them worked okay like the Tele-Vipers head was a quick way to get a Resolute Tele-Viper, but ouch poor Stalker's head is so tiny it will not even fit the ball joint on the Duke figure. Or the Viper heads look insanely small on the Trooper body.

Fingers crossed that even the tribute figures start using the standards of the Resolute figures.

Well since this site is Joe Customs - if anyone hasn't been to the critiques section but wants to see how even small tweaks can show off the potential of a Resolute fig (in this case Duke) - check out my post there.

Shameless self-promotion? Sure, I'll have some

I picked up Resolute Duke last night. Apparently I don't have to wrroy about the holster issue because mine is missing the holster entirely. All he has is straps with a big rectangle hole. :( So I'll be adding a working holster anyway.

Overall it is a cool figure. I've got him kneeeling adn holding his pistol in the firing position almost with two hands. He is pretty cool. I'm not feeling him as Duke, but he is a neat figure.

the holsters issue isn't so much a play feature thing for me but it does make me feel better about keeping up with every accessory lol

The only one I've found/ bought is Duke, and I've got to say, I'm not a fan of Duke at all, but this is still a very cool figure.

I got the Resolute Duke last night and I have to say this is my favorite figure in years. I love the more tactical look and how the vest does not impeded articulation. I'm not as attached to the original designs as most collectors so this is a welcome step that hasbro is taking.

The 90 degree bend at the elbows is a big win on the new resolute figures.

I HATE the elbows that don't bend at all like on my recent General Hawk. :verymad:
