danielb and I got into a very spirited discussion about vehicles. He claims that the Rat is the superior toy to the Grizzly. I disagreed. Rants ensued and neither of us budged. We debated on the topics of playability, real world capability, price point, and customizing potential.

So, I ask you. Which do you prefer?

The Rat

The Grizzly

How is this even a question??

The Rat, though I don't own one, does not look like the worst thing ever, or even as bad as people make it out to be, but the Grizzly is 20 pounds of fun in a 5 pound sack. And the NF repaint is even cooler, IMO.

Are you kidding? As much as I love All Things Cobra, the Grizzly rules. It's big, carries alot of Joes, has a COOL firing cannon and, (tho I usualy hate them) great sound effects.

The RAT doesn't even have a bottom.

To correct Sputnik, the Night Force Grizzly is 20 lbs of fun in a 20 lbs sack. The thing is huge, has added play features and can hold more figures than the rat.

I voted for the Rat, becuse I don't know what it is supost to be, but it's the only one. The Night Force Grizzly on the other hand is a tank, and by not being a Mauler is super inferior.

wow, way to run to the board for validation.

20 lbs of fun in a 20lb sack? sure for what 40 bucks? the Rat cost much less has two working gyroscope type launchers that hasbro called flak rotors. It easily cost less then ten bucks.

dream makes a good point btw, with the rat your possibilities are endless, it looks great with toxovipers and any number of other 90s cobras. where as the grizzly is a great hunk of plastic that barely functions as an adequate tank.

At least we know what the Grizzly is. What exactly is the Rat again? And what is it that it can do that any other Cobra vehicle can't?

Quoted from the box art.... the Rat is a "High-Speed Attack Hovercraft!!"

I Had no idea until today that that craptastic piece of plastic was supposed to be a hovercraft. Ya learn something new everyday.

My sentiments exactly. There's a reason that the Rat is the most often used example of how screwed up the 90s line was.

I'm going with the Rat on this one....cheap easy to make...cobra could get about 10 of these out in the field to take on one Patriot Grizzley..

And they would ALL LOSE

This is not cost efficiency when they fail.

It's a hovercraft. And there are better ones.

The stupidtank is only stupid because of how it was portrayed in the spy troops movie. Shooting through mountains and such made it a laughingstock - but the toy is pretty cool if you're into tanks.

The rat is just crap.

I say it again... no vehicle can be considered cool when your figures fall out of the bottom. I wish Hasbro had given this thing a floor... but as my wise Ninja Master used to say: wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets filled first.

My elderly aunt Marion bought me the Rat when it was on clearance at the grocery store she worked at Even with my full blown childish imagination I couldn't get it to work. I tried everything like using paper towel tubbing to create a skirt. As a kid I never like cobra to begin with but even I couldn't reduce my terrorists to ride around in that. it sat on a shelf and was one of the first casualties when my parents tried to throw my Joe stuff out when I went to college. To this day I have yet to replace it.

grizzly ftw
