I stopped by Walmart this morning expecting to find empty pegs where the Joes used to be (as usual). I walk by the Star Wars and TFs figs and spot the Joes. Two pegs full! (Excuse my excitement, I live in Canada. Two pegs of Joes is a big deal here :-) ) Unfortunately, there is a mom with a crying baby in a shopping cart in front of them.

So, I pretend to be interested in the TFs until she moves on. She pops out her cell phone and starts talking with, I assume, her husband/boyfriend. She starts describing the Joes on the pegs. She tells him there is a BAT, a Cobra Para-Vampire(!), Mercenary Wraith and before finishes her coversation, her cell phone battery dies. She leaves the Joes and moves on.

I waited until she left the aisle then picked up a Para-Viper, a BAT, a Bazooka Trooper and TF Duke. I left Croc Master and Wraith. Some poor guy lost a chance at some Joes because of a dead battery. His loss is my gain I suppose. Am I a bad person for not feeling guilty over this? :-D

Guilt. Hmmmmm. Yes, I think I read about guilt once. The concept seemed a complete waste of time.

Her loss, your gain

REAL Men hunt their toys themselves, they don't let their women handle their business. Screw that pantywaist.

No way any guilt. Heck you were just getting stuff for your own collection it's not like you were out to do something evil like resell them on e-Bay for a huge profit.

Although what's really weird in this story is to hear about a Wal-Mart that actually has Joes. The shelves have been so empty at the stores around here I'd almost think they had stopped making action figures.

Congrats on the find.

Spoken like a single man.

Considering all the BS we have to put up with from our wives they dam'n better check out the toy aisle for us whenever they go shopping.

If you're married, AV, you need to put that woman on the street to be your competitive advantage against the single men shopping for Joes who have greater discretionary spending power. What we give up by spending more money on toilet paper and roses she can make up for by doubling your eyes in the field.

When will we see a battery-sucking para-vampire custom? Wasn't there one of those in the Twilight movie?

Coming from a girlfriend who would more than likely be at walmart with a baby and some half assed list with abrevations because you guys know what you mean it is very hard to pick out the right figure. There are so many in the aisle and you have to angle your head while entertaining a baby so he does not think that all of the toys in the aisle are his.
Hint for christmas if you want to get the right things:
Type your list (you know your handwriting is horrible)
Write out the FULL name of the joe
Possibly add a picture ( I know you all know how to do this)
Scope out the store before you send us.
And lastly, if we get it wrong, smile and act like you love it. We will promise to include the reciept so you can sneak to the store later. You know that we don't pay attention to what you have or what we get you so we will never know.

I like nat,

I actually made my wife a list with pictures, but cobra commander was accidently on there(with his element) and so I got the peg warmed commander, lol.

She did find me a couple bats and what not, though, and back at the beginning, she bought every blueshirt she found(at one point we had around 50).

Women are great, AV, you should look into getting one.

My wife tends to keep an eye out but rarely does she find anything. The last time she did it was Artic Snake Eyes. But most times I don't trust that she will take the time to consider the difference between three different versions of the same character (ie Snake Eyes or General Grevious is the latest example).

However it is great every once in a while to come home to a surprize figure waiting, makes one appreciate the people in thier lives and what they feel about you. Of course reciprication is a must (So you better be going out and buying some flowers at random times at the least LOL).

Gee if you want to find joes dont go to the Wal-Mart, I have been there multiple times and have yet to find a single joe, not just 25th aniversarry ones. A few years ago I couldnt find the new sculpt ones, but the K-Mart used to be one of the first to get the new stuff, now a days, its like a ghost town. Oh well, just be wary of that Walmart.
