2003.
Convention figures as well as Tiger Force and Python Patrol are not in.
Let everyone know what figure you like best (and please explain why)!

Easily Agent Faces. At the time, it was really cool. A Joe in disguise plus a removable helmet. Now with all of the CG repaints, it's not as special anymore

I went with Agent Faces on this because I liked the idea of a Joe dressed as a Cobra. I can see why this was a mail-in figure, because it wouldn't surprise me if some of the powers-that-be were still reluctant to do a figure like this for fear that a good guy dressed as a bad guy would be confusing to the kiddies (of course right after this we got SpyTroops, so maybe Agent Faces was a test run).

I didn't care too much for the Big Ben figure. This was the one that used General Hawk parts, right? Not a good idea. And that Slip Stream figure was just plain blah.

Very, very weak year overall for ARAH Joe repaints. Faces wins by virtue of no real competition, and was a neat concept at the time. But like others said the figure has since lost much of its appeal.

When you take out the Con figs, this is a pretty weak class. I went with Agent Faces as it was a decent figure for its time. While the subsequent CG repaints have made this figure less valuable as the army builder so many collectors used him as, I still find that his greatest value is as a new, Cobra character. His look is distinctive enough that he serves well as a new Cobra official. (The head looks good on a Shadow Guard body, too.)

I'm a bit surprised nobody voted for Slip Stream. I did.
I like that new look, the new head is pretty OK. His colours are good enough for a pilot, but I have to admit it's nothing really special.

I went with the Kid Rhino Snake Eyes, which is probably an odd choice because I don't own the figure. Still, it was nice to have a non-black Snake Eyes.

Overall, I agree that the choices are extremely weak. Agent Faces and Slip Stream are the only other two I even considered. I like Slip Stream OK as a generic pilot figure, but I don't feel that it has any features that identify it uniquely as Slip Stream. I probably would have voted for it if the figure had a removable helmet. Agent Faces was a good use of existing parts and an interesting concept, but I've not found much use for the figure in my collection.
