Because using the same terms would be confusing as all hell.

'82 - '98 would be considered = RAH
Spy Troops - VvV = JvC
25th Anniverary - = 25A

makes sense :-P

I have very few characters on my list... Hasbro's been great about reading my mind, and putting out the figures I wanted for my Joe team.

The largest gap is in my command team. I'd love to see Hasbro crank out Dial-Tone, Law & Order, and "GI" Joe Colton so I can populate my PIT with the essential troops. Mercer is on my main Joe team, but his original uniform was bland, and I personally like him wearing a Viper uniform with modifications, so I'm building a custom. I wouldn't mind Hasbro doing his V2 outfit, tho. Ripcord is on my want list, even if i don't have a place for him yet.

After Recondo and Shockwave, the only environmental specialist I'd like is Muskrat. Snake-Eyes body with Tomax/Xamot arms would be perfect, wth just a new vest and head (tho Dusty's with a new hat would also work well). Lastly, my Mauler (BBI desert Abrams) has a custom Cover Girl in the Commander's station, and Grand Slam doubles as my Gunner and JUMP operator. I would like to see Hasbro produce a Dodger figure to be my driver, although he wouldn't be able to interact with the vehicle. I'm still undecided who the loader should be.

Once I have all those... I'll be hard pressed to *need* anyone else. I like the Falcon character, but the figure was horrible. I have this idea of him being a "Renegade" (mixing up the original concept with the feel of Marvel #60). Falcon is the stolid military guy who leads Chuckles and Lowlight on Black Ops missions that are even off-the-books to the Joes. Falcon as the leader works for me because of his ties to the original team via the Movie, also because I don't need him as an XO in my main team. I can see myself expanding the roster if Hasbro puts out more classic Joes... but which ones exactly, I have no idea.

Finally, I have the Screaming Eagles, which is a pipe dream that would require all new figures, and actually pertains to the thread at hand. I've reimagined Sgt. Savage as the Joes' special drill instructor, replacing Sgt. Slaughter (who may be an icon, but is also untouchable). I can even see Savage wearing DI cover. However, instead of training low-lives and washouts, Savage would be in charge of training Joes "next generation", which would include: Kamakura, Barrel Roll, Blackout, Firewall, Hi-Tech and Heavy Duty

Not too many Cobras I'd like to see. The High Command has been done, and Mindbender's coming next year. An Iron Grenadiers Scrap Iron would be a cool repaint, but otherwise, Metalhead, Vypra, Overkill (SpyTroops), Interrogator, and maybe Munitia would be cake, icing, and seconds!

But of the classic Joe Roster, I think these guys would be a good fit for the 25th line:
- Footloose
- Claymoore
- Hit & Run
- Repeater
- Rock'n Roll 89
- Stalker 89
- Ambush
- Bullhorn
- Freefall
- Pathfinder
- Rampart
- Salvo
- Stretcher
- Lowlight 91
- Sci-Fi 91
- General Hawk 91 (Talking)
- Stalker 91 (Talking)
- Slice
- Dice
- Roadblock 92
- Firefly 92
- Cross Country 93
- Bazooka 93
- DEF Mutt
- DEF Shockwave
- DDP Shipwreck
- VvV Mindbender

What about XTreme! And Savage...

Personally, i stopped counting RAH at '94...after that was those HOF years or whatever it was called from '98 to '01.

Savage and Extreme, I'd call...

Savage and Extreme.

Failed toylines don't need anything more descriptive than their actual names... they didn't last long enough and have enough reincarnations to need referrence points.

As far as the 12" guys, from 1996 - 2003ish, they were the Classic Collection, most of the time. Considering the length and breadth of the Post-HOF 12" line, and the fact that they reproduced vintage 12"ers under the same brand subline, I'd just include everything non-RAH related into a generic "Modern 12 Inch" category, to differentiate it from "Vintage 12 Inch" figures from 1964-1976, especially where remakes/replicas are concerned.

GvC, SpyTroops, and VvV 12" figures should be seperate tho, grouped together between the Hall of Fame and 25th 12" lines.

Now I know his uniform was a bit loud, but I think that a LifeLine, either original or Tiger Force should have his name on the roster as well. If not, then I definetely don't regret chosing him to be my first conversion project. (work in progress, pictures soon.)
