Gotta go with Low Light on this one.

Yep. Brawler it is. Don't really like these because of the awful looking pale flesh tones (except for Double Blast of course - he would be my 2nd choice)

A lot of the ones to come in these later years fail because they either have pale or sunburned looking skin

This is really a horrible year for Joe figures. Not a winner in the bunch. At their core, all of the non divers are pretty much the same figure over and over again: drab and boring. I think this reptetiveness had a lot to do with the ARAHC petering out at retail since parents thought all the figs looked the same. In the end, I went with Rock and Roll since it's a nice repaint of a mold that is underappreciated and the figure is somewhat hard to find these days. But, this is one of the weakest class of figures you'll ever find.

I love Divers, Wet Suit in his more subdued outfit!

If Big Brawler doesn't win this, I worry about this site.

I went with Pathfinder. I like the overall paint scheme; I felt it fit really well with the black AWE that he came with.

Gung-Ho

I like the mold a lot and its not wearing a maroon red shirt like he sported in 1993 . But it's not nearly as cool the original green and khaki '92 version.

Pathfinder and Double Blast are #2 and #3 on the list.

I went with Crossfire. New character, new headsculpt, and ultimately the only version of him. Cool figure overall in my opinion.

I voted for Big Brawler simply because he is the most memorable figure from the entire year and is the one figure we consitently talk about here on the board.

Let's face it, the only three figures I see referenced a lot are Cross Country v1, Crystal Ball, and Dr. Mindbender v1.

Even if one doesn't like that mugging head or the passing resemblence to a tv interior decorator, the body is Outback! One of the best molds all time, IMHO.

BTW, has anyone had Big Brawler drive the Brawler?

I went according to which I got the most use from, so it was Surefire. For custom fodder, the body made excellent uniforms for my Stargate Atlantis teams, and his head alone makes a not too shabby Dr. McKay.

The associated Lowlight, in my opinion ruled. I absolutely hated the previous color variations of that uniform sculpt, and I feel 2000-2001 offered the most usable fodder for realistic and futuristic customs combined. May have been the bane for some, but I scarfed as many of those as I could on clearance.

Yeah, Cap pretty much said what I wanted to say. I voted for Leatherneck though just because I got so much more LBC fodder out of the GH/LN two pack.

Yeah, that's my second pick. For those reasons, and because he looks like Nixon to me and that is amusing.

I went with Sure Fire. The colors are much better than the v2 Shockwave, which was already a cool figure. It sweetened the pot by adding a new head that didn't work the helmet rocket launcher.

Again, I have to disagree. The pale flesh-tones and Big Brawler brought the overall set down, but this set (and 2000's offerings) are what got me collecting again. The realistic colors were excellent and offered a nice contrast to the kiddie-colors of the early 90s.
