Duke isn't bad, Storm Shadow isn't bad but not as good as Duke. Snake Eyes isn't great, Cobra Commander is just a Comic Pack repaint. Yeah I don't understand why they went out of their way to make Duke look good and like the art but the rest of them are just thrown in. Storm Shaow is painted to look like the picture, but is still way off and doesn't have the right head. Snake Eyes isn't even close at all. Cobra Commander is like putting a picture of Scarlett on there but pack in Cover Girl. I'd have jumped on the set if they all were accurate.

The problem, with Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander, is the art work doesn't match the figures that they were apparently trying to re-create.

Storm Shadow:

Cobra Commander:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/cobracommander11.shtml

Those two are very close, figure wise, definitely not picture wise.

I don't know what they were going for with Snake Eyes. I can't tell if the DVD pack figure has blue on him to represent this version: http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/snakeeyes10.shtml or not.

Somehow I pretty much knew this was going to be who the pack included when it changed from a GI Joe the Movie to a Greatest Battle set.

I'm pretty sure they were going for this version: http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/snakeeyes14.shtml.

Duke is definitely this version: http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/duke11.shtml (and not the VvV version pictured in the artwork).

This is definitely not the fifth MASS Device DVD set, which will include the "Best Of" cartoon episodes. Rather, it is apparently an entirely separate set that is probably a retailer exclusive, and the DVD is probably the Spy Troops movie based on the figures.

I was wondering that too, but he kind of looks even more like this version:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/02/snakeeyes13.shtml

With the mainly grey color and black shins and forearms, but no noticable purple, and a darker grey.

Go ahead and count me among the growing number of folks surprised by how much they enjoy that Duke. Probably not AS Duke, but a neat figure nonetheless.

I can also find uses for that Snake Eyes body and the CC figure (I've been wanting to do a field general named character for Cobra and this could be a solid base).

Not sure what I'll do with yet another stormshadow, but I don't resent him being included.

Without a MAss Device piece and some pretty horrible figures in there this will be the first DVD pack I pass up. The Duke is ok. Nothing great but ok. CC isn't horrible. Even Snake Eyes is decent, but I counted yesterday and I had accumulated 8 Storm Shadows. All different versions. And I think I've passed on a few here and there as well. Maybe not. And there are already plans for at least two-three more upcoming.

Did Hasbro want to end its winning streak with the DVD sets?

They should just call this the "Screw With Collectors" set. 4 overused character inconveniently packaged together.

This set just reminds me of the Walmart Indiana Jones 3 packs.

I see a lot of people making this mistake. I guess if you're not looking forward to the webgear and dio-pieces from the opening of the Movie, you forget that we're getting
- "Holy Crap" Duke
- Chuteless Para-Trooper
- Claw-flying Commander
- "You're buying this whole set for me, aren't you?" Alpine

This set is #6, for all intents and purposes, but will likely either be a clip show (showing the "greatest battles" from the two CGI films), or else it's just a straight rerelease of the SpyTroops or VvV movie.

Man, I used to think being a ToxoViper was a dead end job. I can just see how they explain this to the recruits.

"Okay. We're going up 5,000 feet and then yu're going to jump out. You don't get a parachute. basically we want you to just try to shoot something as you're falling. Also, try to land some peice of enemy equipment. We'd appreciate it."

Well, if you saw Cobra had started chucking their troopers out of planes without a parachute, wouldn't you get a Holy Crap expression on your face too?

No chutes? Then cobra definitely won't spring for health insurance.

Maybe they just put the bottom 10 percent in that category to keep the others in line, :)

"greatest battles" I think you guys are forgetting "ninja battles" oh yeah, its a nightmare repeat, :) I figure we'll get the last 10 minutes of each of the CGI movies, Hasbro is just that crafty.

wow, I"m strangely tempted to buy this set. I dig that they're JvC style color schemes on Anniversary format figures, really, that's a winning formula IMO.

Obviously these characters are going to keep coming whether we complain or now so the way I see it is if they do have to keep giving us new versions of them, then this is a good way to do it IMO. I'm guessing this box will be about $20.
