As seen in Hawk's review thread

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12354

and reiterated by Scramble, we have clearly had one too many Cobra Commanders. While Hasbro is trying to make these repaints appealing by giving us different paintjobs and sometimes retooled parts we clearly need someone else.

So, with the existing CC parts in mind, what classic character from the comics, toons, or toys could you create. You are not limited to using all the parts but this new fig has to have at least one CC part.

CC V1 hand are kool. it sucks that the left hand is closed but I like the gloves..

I am working on a custom now that uses said part with the rest being Destro V1... So I am using 2 over produced figures (that some consider junk) to make a new fresh character called White Noise.

coming from an anime standpoint, Using the Black CC You could create a Colonel Furher from Starvengers or That Floating Head Villan from Tranzor Z.

...or with some yellow paint and wings, those elite Morarch Soldiers from The Venture Brothers.

As we've seen countless times, 25th CC v.1's legs make great dress pants and could be used with the Duke torso and arms to make a great Joe Colton figure. Or really any other officer type. With a new shirt and tie torso, the hat from Red Star, arms from the Cobra Trooper and new heads you could have General Flag, or any of the other Jugglers.

Easiest repurposing is as high-ranking officers, as seen in Marvel #1. The bald guy with the goatee, and one of the returning soldiers who confronted GIJoe on the beaches... the Commander's toy design was repurposed in that first issue, while the Commander himself wore a totally original design (the iconic Admiral's jacket with long gloves and pirate boots).

CC arms work perfect for arms of about 90% of all male super-heroes. (The same goes for Destro's lower legs and feet, perfect!) And he also works great for making a Red Shadows Red Laser figure, along with the aforementioned Destro legs.

Some combination of CC limbs and maybe CG torsos could be the base figure for military dress uniforms, and is the base I am leaning towards for making a BSG Col. Tigh figure. Colonial Fleet officers out of the extras would be cool, but not if it depletes all the CG troopbuilders you have, I guess.

Looks like I'm going to have to finally finish and post one of my Headhunters, they're entirely the Battle Helmet CC with the exception of the left hand which are cribbed from various figures and some Marauder parts. I've just been lazy about painting and stuck on an easily duplicable shoulder armor piece (since I have five minimum planned).

If you take the body, paint all the blue parts white and slap a new head on it, you've got a decent mad scientist look.

On the flipside, take the all black outfit, stick a Red Star head and hat, you've got a pretty good Black Major.

Also, taking the Cobra Commander body, giving it Serpentor's boots and gloves, and topping it off with a helmetless Cobra Trooper head, you've got the start of a pretty decent Overlord. It'll still need a bit of work, but I just really like the idea of having Overlord's costume coming directly from parts of CC and Serpentors.

(assuming all these parts fit together. I didn't check. All I did was mess around in photoshop to get rough ideas.)

The battlemask style head, sans helmet, makes a great base for a sci-fi style head. Just start adding details and it can be either some sort of advanded helmet, or a robot head.

Plug in Cobra Trooper lower arms, and repaint the hands, and you've got the gloveless card art Cobra Commander.

CC's lower arms on a Duke torso (Cobra Trooper upper arms work best, between them) makes a good basis for a Steel Brigade.

I've tucked away a few CC parts for use as Red Shadows if I ever get my butt motivated enough to use them.

Cobra Commander has come in very handy for the few 25A customs I've done. As soon as I get a couple more I'm totally making another Multiple Man or two.

I used the black ones in conjuction with Cobra Trooper legs to make some Shadow Guards.

Also used his upper body/waist in my Cobrage(corba scientist) custom as well. With a bit of cloth added to the bottom of the upper torso, you can get a great labcoat out of that figure.
