1994, even this year there were still a few jewels.
Figures from Ninja Force and Star Brigade and 30th Anniversary are not in.
Let everyone know what figure you like best (and please explain why)!

I liked Lifeline. I thought it was an improvement on the original design.

...although they dropped the ball with the non-opening briefcase.

General. Joesph Colton, however, was a close second....

Star Brigade Duke is easely the best Duke, and would've gotten my vote.

Shipwreck, easily. Great mold, pretty good accessories, even the spring-loaded launcher.

Honorable mention to the 30th Anniversary figures. Truly the best non-Cobra figures from the year. Love the accessories (save for the Garands) Got them in December of '94 as i recall. Replaced the lot of them a couple of years back for .99 cent on good ol eBay.

I went with Flint simply because of the basic assortment, he was the best of the lot. I would've gone with Ice Cream Soldier had be been on this list. As for most of the others, especially Beach-Head, Lifeline, and SHIPWRECK, none of them were improvements over their originals. Snow Storm wasn't bad, though.

Had Star Brigade been on this list, my first place would've likely gone to SPACE SHOT, with a close second being the highly-detailed SCI-FI.

As for the 30th Anniversary figures, I really liked them. Most of them make decent army builders in a sense (although that same, classic face on some of them can throw it off a bit), and I especially thought the Sailors and Soldiers were well done. Also really was impressed by the Astronaut.

I'm also fortunate enough to own the recolored Action Pilot that was offered at the 1994 Convention, which was the first-ever 3-3/4" Convention Exclusive. :-D

Shipwreck swims away with it. Much like his appearance at the beginning of "There's No Place Like Springfield."

General Joe gets the silver.

Life Line was my second choice. As it goes GI Joe never had enough Medics so a new medic mold which looked great by the way, with the mic and grapple launcher and for once a bright colored accessory which made sense. The yellow brief case. If he was in the rescue business he would make sure his gear was bright colored so he wouldn't repel somewhere leave and then not be able to see it. (I'm a firefighter and we make allot of our gear bright yellow and orange for that reason).

My first vote would have been Ice Cream Soldier ( although I would have tried to call him Charbroil v2) I am sure there was legal issues. But the file card could have read something like "Once he realized his asbestos suit was hazardous to his health Charbroil volunteered for a fitting with new experimental nomex/kevlar battle suit and new aspirated foamed flame thrower)

Third Place Shipwreck: Great gear for a seal

G.I. Joe, he’s the most realistic looking in regards to uniform. That and it’s just a cool idea to re-make the original toy in 3 ¾.

Lifeline was a billion times better than that joke of a figure from 1986 and its fugly repaint from '88.

I'd love to know how you decide which figs are and aren't worthy of being voted on, man.

But with the choices available, I went with SnowStorm because I like the techy guys and the black/gray paintjob is cool.

/Altho I use him as an astronaut manning my Defiant, renamed Capt Crater.
//Air Force Captain O-3, not Navy Captain O-6.

Shipwreck was a cool figure. Still is. The mask was probably my favorite thing about that figure.

Lifeline comes in as a VERY close second. Great figure, but I have bad memories of opening him up and losing the mic right away in the food court of the mall.

Fixed! Never thought of him as a Joe, because I only knew the mold as Shock Viper. Because I had to fix this, all votes are gone. Sorry for the inconveniency, but please vote again!!!

Star Brigade will get a separate poll somewhere in the coming months!

First I want to poll all the "regular" members of the Joe and Cobra teams. Specialized teams as TF, PP, Star Brigade, Marauders etc. will get separate polls. I now realize I actually did include, for example, Destro and the Headhunters in the regular polls, but they still will get a separate poll.
After the figure polls, vehicles will follow and more stuff. Now you know. And knowing is....... ;-)

1. Lifeline. Now that's a medic.
2. Flint. A fine desert outfit. Could've easily been a new character, that's how I use it.
3. Shipwreck. Great diving suit, nice stuff.

This is a tough year since most of the Joe figures were well done and many even featured solid colors. Flint is a great desert figure who stands equal with any version of Dusty. Lifeline and Dial Tone are good molds in decent enough colors and make great fodder to fill out vehicles. Beach Head is a great mold, but the 93 version is better. Stalker is one of my all time favorite figures and is my default version for the character. But, the outright winner has to be Shipwreck. I bought two of him at retail back in '95 because he was so well done. It is a perfect blend of accessories, weapons, molds and colors and I see him as one of the top figures in the history of the vintage line.
