Hey all. I love Joe – and 25th collection. But I'm beat, even though I love all these toys.

Lately I've been kind of reminiscing of when releases were alittle slower, and Joe collecting was mostly scrounging – a few packs at TRU, some at Big Lots and Soldier Force was the big thing for vehicles. In the absence of official releases, creativity ran rampant – every week a new repainted vehicle, diostories all over.

I kind of feel like when I'm left alone with my Joes and a breather, my creativity returns. When I spend all my money and time finding the Joes, my enthusiasm for expanding their universe falls by the wayside...

Anyone else?

wow, i don't believe this, but i'm actually in complete agreement with you. 8-O

i am joe-fatigued (see what i did there, lance?*)

i just got notice from my friend joel at bbts (see what i did there, lance?**) that they're taking pre-orders on the new comic packs and new 5-figure boxes... aaaand other than maybe tunnel rat, i'm just not down with the sickness...if i get a tunnel rat, i want a single carded one.

possibly i have overcome my joekemon addiction...

//joekemon -- there, i said it --
* : get it? fatigued...
** : attributed the information. :-P

Yeah the game of "Spot where we're gonna put this figure, over three releases!" game sucks. I want an IG. Should I get Destro/IG, wait for Viper/IG or single pack IG?

Yawn. Just do single cards Hasbro. :(

I agree, it's too much at once. Not to mention the fact that for one figure price today you'd get two in the new sculpt era. At least then you got custom fodder. Today it's hard to snag one of popular figure.

I know I seem to be watching this thread like a hawk (I have literally nothing to do), but seriously, go to YoJoe.com and look at how many vehicles and toys got released in one year. 1986's vehicle listing reads like a news post from a Wal-Mart computer! Its ridiculous!

Not only would I like to see it slow down so I'm not looking every month for something new, I'm starting to see the shelves get flooded with the peg warmers. That's bad because the toy departments won't put anything new on the shelf, which means the newer waves get even harder to find.

yes bring back the good ol' days of hard drive vs. baroness

i don't remember seeing any of the ones on shelves (all black v1 snake eyes, the v2 one, armor cc, etc.) as peg warmers before. besides no one said you had to buy everything (thankfully...but i do wish they had put out wave 10 before the refresher waves lol...or at least more BAT's).

Actually I'm quite the opposite. The new product is inspiring my creativity quite well. Getting new stuff brings back that feeling from childhood of getting a new toy and finding something cool to do with it.

Now that's not to say I wouldn't mind a little bit of a slowdown in the recent release schedule. The feast or famine distribution is a little taxing on my wallet. But other than that I love all the new stuff coming out and it really sparks the customizing fire for me.

I am starting to agree...not that I am unhappy with getting new stuff...but it's all coming out at once...I have wave 10 coming on the way...
GI JOE EXTREME CONDITIONS 7-PACKS are in at BBTS which means those are coming

I dunno..I might wait till the vehicles hit stores from now on. I am buying a case and getting a lot of double vehicles.

A lot of it though is, I preorder figs and but a case...but end up with triple characters that I don't want.

My thing with the M.A.S.S. releases is that I can't afford everything I want.. I went to the local Walmart and seen about 150 bucks worth that I wanted.. So I pick up 1 comic pack cause that what I could afford, leaving the other 140 bucks worth of stuff to sit..

I would also like to do a few customs but at 6+ bucks for a figure to rip it apart, I just can't justify it with how tight things are getting..

And if you include the exclusives (TRU Target) I would spend a full paycheck, and still be wishing for more..

So just like when I was a kid and had an allowance. I get to stand there, and drool over what may not be there next time..

I usually buy the figures and vehicles and comic packs. I do get a little selective when it comes to some of it.
I pre-order it all from bbts, then hunt in the stores as well.
all the stuff they have for pre-order makes my total up to $500.00.

thank god it actually doesn't all come out at once.

Yeah, when my pre-orders got up into the $300 range I had to start over and reconsider whether I really wanted / needed what I was getting.

Too much Joes!

I think Hasbro has been cranking out too many releases and it's not feasible for me to keep up anymore. It's like the new-sculpt era all over again, only this time, there are no vintage molds mixed-in. I got burned-out last time around, so I'm definately more picky with what I buy these days. So far, unless it's Snake-Eyes, Stormshadow, or Firely, it hasn't been bought. As nice as the 25th figures are, I've noticed the typical pattern is for me to putz around with the figure for a day or so, and then it gets posed on my shelf. I honestly think the single carded figures look nicer displayed MOC, since I don't 'play' with them a whole lot. They're pretty to look at, but the soft legs and arms don't feel right to me. Everytime I pose a figure balancing on 1-leg, he falls off the stand due to the feet being too soft. Basically, these are a sub-set of figures for me that don't get integrated into my regular collection. The price point on these figures is relatively high and coupled with spotty distribution, it really isn't worth my time tracking down these figures. It actually saves me time and stress to buy spend a little more on eBay, instead of driving all over town hoping to find something I want. It's been a year and I have less than 10 25th figures, and I'm much happier for it. I'd like to thank Hasbro for making it so hard to acquire these figures at retail that I can allocate my monetary resources elsewhere. I find myself browsing for vintage Joes more than anything else. In fact, the best thing about the 25th Joes is finding complementary accessories to outfit my vintage figures. In fact, that little green harness/strap from the artic Sanke-Eyes is quite nifty. If I could find a way to hoard 5-10 of those things, I'd be one happy camper ;-)

I haven't even bothered to keep up. They are churning out a lot of product. What I've been doing is pre-ordering from BBTS for the stuff I really don't want to miss. Everything else that I'm on the fence about or want for fodder, I just wait until I run across it in the stores. I haven't missed out on anything I wanted.

Right now is a good time to practice patience. On a recent toy run I looked at a lot of the remnants of the General Hawk wave. That was a wave I wanted at the time but put off because I didn't really, really want it. Now they are all over the place and I've been able to pick up every single figure in the stores without any mark up. I picked up a Firebat at Kmart for $15. Patience has not only rekindled the thrill of the toy hunt for me because I don't care if I find anything or not, but it has also saved me money by saving on shipping, gas, and being more selective about what I buy and what I can let go. I didn't need to go hog wild picking up Snow Serpents because I knew I wnated the Winter Ops pack when it came out. I haven't picked up an IG yet because I know they will be in a single pack at some point.

When this set first came out I was all over it when I found it, nearly two years later and nothing had been done about not finding anything at retail I threw my hands up cause one day I spotted spirit and grabbed him in such a rush I never really looked at him closely. Regreated it ever since.

This was pretty close to the time Indy was about to start as well as the force unleashed SW figures for the game, so I began to revaluate my proirities.

Basicly it the way of joes, if I see them and I have the money, great, if not, oh well. I might buy max 3 fiures a wave (that seems to be the adverage of what actually interests me from this line) and maybe a comic pack (useually only one catches my attention and its useally for only one figure).

Seriously I got to the point where I was thinking "How many destros do I need, How many Cobra Commanders, How many stormshadows." Most of what interests me now is A. a character that hasn't been seen in a very long while (ie Nemisis Enforcer) and deserved a better sculpt or B. Someone I didn't have in the first place or rarely C A new character (I leave that for Wraith and Trakker).
