I picked Storm Shadow because he just always stood out for me back then. I was into the whole ninja thing that was going on and bringing Storm Shadow in worked well in my mind. All the accessories as well made this figure something extra. He was one of the more well sculpted figures too at that time.

Zartan is a close second. The color change, swamp ski, face mask, etc. He was a fun figure, but the ninja thing stood out more for me back then.

84 Cobra is a no brainer, I thought. It has to be Storm Shadow. Then I looked at the list, checked up on the figures, and it's really far from obvious.

- Wild Weasel has an excellent mold, and the details like the map on his leg are just pure gold.
- Baroness is by 84 standards a gorgeous female action figure, and a perfect example that less is more.
- Firefly could have been the very best figure in the whole series, with insanely cool accessories. Headsculpt and paint job pulls it down.
- Scrap Iron. Awesome awesome accessories. Wicked comic apperances. Pretty good figure too.

It's still a no brainer though. We're given a ninja action figure for the first time (?), and what a figure. The coolest sculpt. Tons of details. White paint for added awesomeness (which would later translate into collector headache) Two(!) swords. a bow and nunchuks make for the coolest accs so far in the joe line. And I haven't even started on his comic apperances...

Opposite for me. Zartan w/ Storm Shadow a close 2nd.

Zartan wins with his accessories and color change ability. The molded-on back part of his chest piece was an awful idea though and hurts the figure

Stormy is really cool, but his HTF weapons and tendency to turn yellow drops him on my list

I chose Baroness. I just liked the whole design and color scheme of the figure, and the card art really brought it home for me, as it did for a lot of my purchases.

Okay, look -- I like the Baroness and I like Storm Shadow as much as anybody, but I guess I feel like giving my vote to cool characters that I ALSO like that probably won't get as much attention, so I went with Copperhead. He had a distinctive look with the turquoise and bright green uniform, which was a good design, and the Water Moccasin is a cool vehicle, too!

Had to go with Storm Shadow. Back in 84 his backpack was Gold! if you had one, you were the man on the playground!

I remember seeing Scrap-Iron on the peg at the local K-Mart while shopping with my parents. Before we even made it to the checkout, I had totally envisioned him taking out the MOBAT with that double launcher.

Plus, my Ferret 4x4 was frequently seen with Scraps and Firefly tooling about the battlefield wreaking havoc, again thanks to Marvel & Hama!

Hmmm...thinking back to that K-Mart trip, I think that was when I also got my green plastic M-16 that "clacked" when you pulled the trigger. Good times......good times.
