For those interested, check the marketplace. I'm going to go ahead and start taking orders on these. I'll fill your order based on the postion of your post.

I guess I should update this post to let everyone interested know that I put some new pictures up in the marketplace and introduced new bases:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10966&start=15

I forgot to make a post here about it. The new bases are strictly for single or a few figure displays. I'm also introducing a new figure stand without a background. No pics are up yet, but I hope to have a shot of that by the weekend.

Something new that I'll be listing soon, figure stands. These 7 will be whats available. There's a beach/water, grass, desert, and snow for the smaller single foot peg stand and snow, desert, and grass for the bigger 2 foot peg display.

Of course what's seen here is the prototype. The first ones made. I'll probably offer them as painted or unpainted versions. I'll post again when I'm ready to start selling them.

As mentioned in the Firebat/SHARC shipping thread I'd really like to see what you can do with a FLAGG display backdrop. What I'd like is maybe one the size that will fit a SHARC as though its on one of the lowered elevators. Perhaps with 3 sides to simulate it being down all the way? Know what I'm talking about?

Ok, here's a rough idea of what I had in mind for a Flagg display base:

Image

Image

The background would be 17" x 17" with the deck being 17" x 24". It would be a decent display base that would fit 1 Skystriker. You could put some smaller vehicle on it instead. It wouldn't be so massive though that it would be too big. It will not have the gun port on the side like the real one since this is for displaying and I think I'd just make the anchors out of stickers. No point in making the extra stuff and both boosting the price plus taking away from the item you display. I might add another part at the bottom so "water" can be put in there. That part right now is unknown.

My goal is trying to make it so that it will not cost anymore than $35. I'm going for cheaper than that of course, but I wanted to set a higher price point that would be as high as I'd pay, then try to fit my material cost into that. If I can without over doing the price point I'll enlarge it a little more. Say 20" x 20" and 20" x 28".

So does this look like something that would hold interest? An affordable Flagg of sorts. Plus a Flagg that wouldn't be so massive that you'd have no room for it.

Looks like a great idea, man.

Be cool just to be able to put stuff on there, like a team display.

I think the FLAGG display sounds like a great idea! I'm one of those people that never got a FLAGG because of a lack of space, so I think this would work really well as an alternative.

I was thinking about the aircraft carrier concept while on vacation, and I came up with an additional possible application of the idea - a Cobra air carrier display, as seen in the cartoon.

J, do you think that is something you could produce?

Yeah, anything is possible. I would just need to find a good background to use and make sure it's a clean image. Once I have that I can try and figure out the front layout. That would probably be an easier solution for many rather than trying to have a full sized version in their house.

While I've been sick with brochitus I haven't had the chance to work on these. I've got a base going to Justin, Marauder, and Dark Horse, but I didn't want to work on them and maybe pass my illness along. I don't know how possible that is, but I'm funny with that and usually don't take chances. But now I'm back up and running good so once I get those done I'll try and draw up something for the air carrier.

I was working on a page for these bases too. I think it'll breakdown to these regular size (8 x 10 with a 5 x 10 floor), the small ones (5 x 7 with a 5 x 4 floor), the figure stands, a misc. section where I'll have the items like the FLAGG base, a "shelving section" where it'll be a fairly elaborate 2 or 3 sectional shelf/display, and a "free for all" custom inquiry so people can request idea. I hope to have that page up fairly quick.

The Cobra Base, I'm waiting on one last item on order that I need to get that ball rolling. I want to lay some protective film over the images to help protect them once they are on the base. This isn't something that's going to raise the price. I just will feel more comfortable doing this so I know the image will be perfect for many many years.

The website will probably go up this coming week. I have a total of 40 backgrounds to pick from for now. I'll keep adding more as I find good ones. The smaller figure stands, I'll probably launch with just 5 or 10.

For now here's a preview of a new base that will be a selection:

Image

This is the prototype. Colors will be a little different on the actual base. This one looks more like a football field than the floor it should be. I didn't have the right colors to paint it, but that'll be fixed. This one was more about getting the measurements correct than anything else.
