I never read the whole thing (altho I can see by looking at it on the old bored that Outback Argento owes us an update), so I dunno if this site is old news or not. The guy will sell you an Airwolf conversion kit for an R/C helicoptor, or offer to build it for you. He never mentions scale, that I can see; but it looks roughly 18th scale in all the pics I see.

It wasn't Outback Argentino it was just Outback that was doing that one mod.

That helicopter site you show is the one that me and Chief are planning to use for our Airwolf's. It is perfect for 1:18th size.

Ahh, I can post to the board again!

Yeah, I promised an update before the board changeover. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my gallery account, and had to wait until it was fixed.

Anyway, the request was for photos of a figure next to the helicopter, sitting in the seat, etc. Since my Hawke and Dom figures aren't done yet, I used a Franken-Joe for the shots.

Don't be alarmed that a couple of windows are missing. I didn't like their fit, and was in the process of adjusting them when I took the pics.

Those shots are about a month old. Airwolf is currently in the spray booth, getting the first of her color coats applied. I've generated a helmet pattern, and the latex mold is drying on it as we speak. I'm in the process of making molds for the figures' arms, and the rest of the bodies are ready for assembly. Still hammering away at the likenesses on the heads, hope to have them completed in a day or so.

Look for updated pics by Sunday night, if all goes according to plan.

Just a small update for today. First, the helmets:

I started with a resin cast of the old Kenner X-Wing Luke head. I sculpted the Airwolf helmet on that with Super Sculpey, then made a latex mold. The final helmet was cast from that mold. The photo shows the resin Luke cast, the painted pattern, and the resin cast.

Next up, the figures. They're shown here in the stage of putting the raw parts together before detailing and painting. Don't be disturbed by the likenesses or the haircut String got. I didn't want to go too crazy with finishing them until after I'd fit the helmets to the heads. Also, at this stage I hadn't decided to go with closed collars instead of open ones, so there's still some sculpting to be done. Finally, I decided I liked the first season flightsuits better than the second season, so those are the ones I'll be using.

I'm considering halting further updates to this thread. I don't know how much you guys are getting out of these snapshots of my progress, and I'm getting pretty close to the finish here. Maybe I should just post a big update when everything's done. Any thoughts?
