When I heard and saw the 25th Anniversary line coming out, I figured I'd reserve judgement on them until I actually owned them. The first few series were OK, but the line has improved over time.

While personally I would prefer a RAH re-launch, I know it isn't possible, but this line is an acceptable 2nd choice.

With any figure I've gotten, I usually open them sometime during the same week I buy them, but often times they'll sit for weeks until I get around to opening them -there is no real desire to mess around with them. They look good on a shelf and pose nicely, but I don't go out of my way to get them, I just pull myself a set when I get them in or if I stumble across them at the store, I'll grab what I need.

Well, all the changed today. I was out at Wal-Mart a few days ago and happened acrossthe Nemesis Whatever-They-Renamed him and Falcon two pack. I picked it up and threw it in the front seat of my car to be opened when I got around to it.

Today my son and I were out and he's been playing with a 25th Anniversary BAT he stole from me. While at a red light I figured he might like Nemesis Enforcer since he's has giant wings. Well, I popped open Nemmie and HOLY CRAP, this figure is probably (IMO) the best figure of the entire 25th line! (IN MY OPINION)

This figure completely blows away the original, which was crap by Fisher Price little people standards, and REALLY looks like he jumped out of GIJOE The Movie. I disliked the Joe movie, but I really did like the way Nemmie looked and behaved in that film, aside from the end. He kicked all kinds of ass! He [LASER BLAST] Snake Eyes and made Scarlett hold his jacket while he did it.

Anyway, I've been messing with this figure for an hour or so, and this dude friggin' rocks. I haven't created a thread about any single 25th figure since the line started, but hot damn, Nemmie has me pumped up. I'm already planning to pick up a 2nd for a custom project, something I really haven't had any interested in doing with 25th till today.

If this figure is any indication of the new lines potential, we're in for quite a ride!

Yeah, I have to say, I wish we'd get a RAH return, but I know that's not going to happen. That being said, I haven't picked up very many 25th-style figures and I don't intend to. THAT being said, I DID pick up Nemesis Immortal because if there is ONE FIGURE from the original RAH line that REALLY needed a remake -- it's Nemesis Enforcer.

And 25th-style format or not -- this time, Hasbro got it right!

Yeah, this figure is great. It'd be better if the giant round things on the wings weren't half a centimeter bigger than where they're supposed to fit into though. Hahaha. I'm actually surprised by how much I like the Falcon figuren as well, considering I can't stand the character.

Sounds great, can't wait to get the Nemesis Enforcer. I agree that the 25th is only the second best alternative, and that I'd prefer a RAH relaunch. But the 25ths are just getting better and better. I've still kept all my 25ths on card, but it's getting harder.. :-|
How was the Falcon figure? Always liked that character.

Still would've been better as a RAH figure.

That would be interesting. I mean considering he would have to be a new sculpted design since the parts truly don't exist to pull off his size the only big difference between this and what you're talking about is the o-ring articulation. You'd end up with a Visionaries looking figure with modern sculpting. I'm not saying that would be good or bad, just interesting.

They already made a RAH style Nemasis, so you can stick with that one.

Yes i agree with Nemmy being totally awesome, to me IMHO i think he's the best 25th. figure released to date, i still would like to see the rest of Cobra-La remade, only time will tell.

Like you was saying about if this is an example of what's to come, man are we in for a treat.

If the reason people don't like Cobra-La is based on the movie itself, and that's why we haven't seen specefic figures...

...this would be the perfect time to retcon the whole thing to be based underground of a major California city.

Let's hear it for Cobra-LA!

Think of it:

-shell-like bikini swimsuits

ummm

Did I mention shell-like bikini swimsuits?

(wait, I'm starting to see a bad Convention set idea: GIJOE/Baywatch crossover which would see Pamela Anderson immortalized in plastic. :shifty: )

I personally don't care much for the existance of Cobra-La, or the idea behind it all that much. I DID like the way they were presented in much of the movie, though -an unstoppable force who were downright evil and "LASER BLAST" up.

The RAH figures were pretty much unusable -Golobulus couldn't stand, Nemmie was an insult to what he COULD have been (20 years later they got it right), and the Royal Guard was just odd and chubby looking. Heck, I'm able to work in Star Brigade Armor Tech figures and Shadow Ninjas easier than these three dingleberries.

If we MUST have Cobra-La figures in the new line, and I think we will be getting them based on Nemmie even being made in the first place, and the fact that Mike from the design team is a huge fan himself, I look forward to seeing what he would do with a Pythona, Golobulus and Royal Guard.

The potential for utter coolness IS there in every character in the mythos, but Cobra-La presents a real challenge: take the biggest turds in Joe RAH history and make them cool. Sounds like Project: Respect on a commercial level, doesn't it?

And, beyond that, IF Hasbro can make the Cobra-La rejects cool as hell, then I have full faith that they can get anything right. Maybe not on the first try (Major Bludd, Zartan), but they did get both of those characters right the second time. And, if the Joe line follows SW's lead, we can expect several different versions of each character and chances are good that at least one version of them would be enough to make each fan happy for thier own favorite version to be made.

Cobra-La had some great concepts, but I think the execution was poor. I'd like to see it retconned as the products of one of Cobra's lab complexes. I could easily see Golobulous some mad scientist type who tends to experiment on himself.

I thought Pamela Anderson was already made of plastic.

Meh. I saw this pack at Walmart the other day. I honestly don'e see what all the fuss is about with this figure. I didn't see anything remarkable at all, and I have no plans on purchasing the set, because that figure is not ringing my bell. I just don't see what's so great about it. Ah well. :\
