Hasbro has announced in a Q&A session that the Sankara Stones will not be packed in as accessories with the upcoming Indiana Jones Temple of Doom wave:

http://www.cooltoyreview.com/story/fron ... 115805.asp

To me, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. We should get at least one, packed with the Temple Escape Indy. These are the accessories that are essential to the movie plot. We got a Golden idol and Ark with the ROTLA wave, a Cross of Coronado, Grail Diary and Grail with TLC and a Crystal Skull with KOTCS.

I have defended Hasbro to the hilt over their Indiana Jones releses, even if a bit sad that certain figures (Toht, Tanis Dig Belloq, Colonel Dietrich, TLC Sallah, Marcus Brody) didn't get a release. But that is what customising is for ;-)

I am also puzzled as to the reference of the "item" rather than figure. Does this signify a Thuggee Temple playset? With them fitting in a giant skull and glowing? And a cage, trap door and lava pit? Hope springs eternal.

While I am very much looking forward to getting the new wave of figures, this does sour the deal a little for me.

Oh that sucks. why would they do that AFTER releasing the Kali Skull Goblet as an artifact?

Exactly my point. When I heard which figures were being released, I was expecting a Sankara stone with each of three of the figures. When I heard about the flaming heart and Chalice of Kali, I thought: "Well at least we will get ONE with Indy."

I even had plans for how to make a scale Chalice.

I would have liked some with figures, but if it is going to be a part of a playset, I would rather have something else included with the figures now.

It would really suck to have Indy come with 1 stone, buy 3 Indy figures (or 5), then find out from SDCC that a temple playset will be worth getting and has the stones already.

Hasbro did say that they would be showing more Indy items at SDCC. It is one unveiling I eagerly await.

GIJoe is on Thursday from 11:30-12:30.
Star Wars & Indy are on Friday 1:15 - 2:00.

I wish I could be there, but at least the schedule gives some idea of when we can hope for some images and news to pop online.

That is what I am hoping for.

Me too. I will be scouring the net on Thursday and Friday to get an idea of what we will be getting.

The Cross we got was way out of perportion in the item box, So really we didn't get that either. There is one attached to Young Indy's belt that is the right scale but totaly unuesable due to it being attached.

Still by that rational, we already have the stone as a relic item (but out of perportion).

Also the Skull that came with indy was attached to a hand. Really not that usefull (Again rereleased out of scale as a relic too).

I see what you are saying, but the examples kind of fall short. The ark and the idol and the grail (with grail knight) is all we really have when you get down to it.

Unless of course you do what I did and bought an extra KOTCS Indy to use as a custom and carefully cut the hand away from the skull.
