okay, Fred and Justin, your collective toy photography is so detailed, so stunning I'm finally forced to ask what the hell kind of cameras you both use. Thes pictures look almost HD quality!

what kind, what models, and for god's sake what were pricetags on the cameras?

I dream of having a digital camera that can take pictures of figures like that.

I wonder why Storm Shadow has a Cobra logo on his outfit.

I love that the Spytroops look of Tunnel Rat actually comes off looking pretty cool when it's drawn but the figure itself is just awful. I like to pretend him being in the comic means there's a shot at getting a figure. It makes me feel better.

Looking at it more closely, that's the classic Tunnel Rat in Spy Troops colors.

Fred's actually got a MUCH better camera than I do, I just use a little Nikon Coolpix L1, nothing fancy at all. The trick is using the right lighting and getting the hang of the "Macro" function...

Thanks for the review!

I was seriously considering canceling this wave after being disappointed by the last round of the new comics. I don't really need the figures in this wave, I reckon.

Well, too late! They're on the way. I'm really hoping I dig the comics!

I just realized! That's not Listen N Fun, that's Funskool International!!!

Copperhead looks like the best, but his character is a bore. Shipwreck's skin tone is really annoying me.

Firefly/SS pack look good for the stuff they came with. I hate the Gung-Ho body because it looks like a man with muscles who's been straved.

I know I won't be getting the Duke/Red Star pack. Just doesn't interest me.

Can someone take a pic of that Storm Shadow's gear on one of the shirted Storm Shadows?

Overall the only cunker to me in this wave is that Duke. Not needed at all. High spots are Red Star and Copperhead.

So are Storm Shadow's Gung-ho arms assembled correctly or not? Its hard to tell from the pics but it looks like he's got two left upper arms or the right upper is posed backwards. I'm still looking at my single-carded GH that I have to crack the torso and flip the arms to the correct side. If Storm Shadow is messed up too I'll just wait and to them both at the same time.

Also I haven't read much mention of any joint warpage due to the "dynamic" posing in the packaging but I can see in some of the shots that these figures didn't escape unwarped. Any thoughts?

There’s something a bit funky with the knee joint and whether it’s because of the pose in the package, or because the “fit” wasn’t exact, the legs come off as a bit screwy.

:shifty:

Anyway, I'm not sure what the cause is, but yeah the knee joints are a tad "off" though I'm not sure warped is really the right term. I dunno if it's just a mis-fit of the parts or what.

Besides that, most of the figures were pretty warp-free and I didn't notice any real problems like there was in Wave 1. Which figures looked warped to you?

Justin

love the reviews and pics as usual, in fact it's made me snag the Copperhead/Shipwreck and Firefly/SS sets.

But where are the traditional querky comic strip-joke pics at the end? Only see Shipwreck "I'm the king of the world" one. Gotta have those pics, it's almost like a trademark with these reviews.

Shipwreck looks a bit bowlegged, Firefly's right knee looks a bit warped to the outside and Storm Shadow's knees are a bit off like you mentioned.

I honestly don't understand the need for "dynamic" posing in the package especially when the rubberbands they use to hold them in the trays only make the warpage that much worse. If the posing was that critical to sales then wouldn't all the figures be packaged that way?

Both the sets I bought had them put together properly.

All of these look like winners to me. I might actually sculpt some facial hair onto that Duke figure and turn him into a non-melon Breaker. And I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually excited about getting yet another Stormie.

I kind of like the no shirt, Uzi toting look about him. With a different head, he'd probably make a great bodyguard type character.
