Wait. Is there only a picture? Or is there editorial copy that explains the joints?

If we're guessing at this point, I really hope Deep-Six is fully articulated.

A Deep Six in original diving suit should have at least as much articulation as every other figure in the line. It might not have the same range of motion being a bulky figure and all, but Hasbro should do it right.

Otherwise, don't bother.

The time for half assing GIJoe ended with GvC.

the copy reads: "First and foremost he has better articulation! Both his elbow and knee joints bend and he has the ability to turn his wrists and use his hands to grasp and hold accessories."

And as far as the pictures go you can't even see that much articulation. Just looks like the original brick with a new head.

Still, at the $15 price point he's not too expensive to hack apart to fudge together a better one.

Y'know, mayhaps I read into things too much, but I always thought the whole reason for the craptastic articulation on the original was to accomodate the air filled diving/sinking thing. If the new one doesn't do that, then why not give it at least as much articulation as ANY transformer has?

Yeah, massive pass on this. I flipped past the page as I thought it was some article about the original, and only looked twice at it due to this thread. I really don't understand where Hasbro's getting this idea that we collectors want the 25A figs to have the articulation the sub-par originals had. What's next, ArmorTech figs articulated like the Mattel 18th Batman fig?

What's really interesting about this issue is the cover pic of Python Patrol Night and Frag Vipers. Why isn't there anything in the mag about them?!?!?

Those Python Patrol figures are my customs that I entered in the custom contest at last years Joe con. I also entered the Night Viper in the PP vs Tiger Force group project along with a PP Swamp Viper.

I think we need to remember Major Bludd and Deep-Six for next month's Q&A.

"When making an anniversary figure, how important is it to restrict articulation, if the original figure had limited articulation (Major Bludd, Deep-Six)? And, how much do you think we the fans favor this (We don't)?"

I agree. They need to be called out on it.

I'm also positive that Hasbro doesn't actually believe fans want a figure with crap articulation because the original had crap articulation. Otherwise they would never have given us double hinged knees, articulated ankles and wrists, or a new body construction. The company is trying to cut corners. They're saving money doing it. That's the only reason they're doing it. Any other reason is a cop out. They need to be reminded that shoddy workmanship is unacceptable.

I got my paper today and yeah you can clearly see the figure. There's several pics and the whole exclusive "first look" is dedicated on a full page.

From what I can tell, the knee and elbow joints are limited. The hands just swivel. It almost looks like it just a swivel on the elbows actaully. He has the shoulder swivel too. It's such a bulky design that you'd almost think the figure probably would come out of the suit. He's got a "happy" look on his face to which doesn't look right.

I'll probably end up getting a second one to customize myself. Well if I can find enough to even get 1. I mean the stupid Target exclusives were not in store but a single shipment in my area. If I hadn't been there the day they were put out I wouldn't have got any of them.

I think there's a lot of stuff that we need to ask Hasbro at the convention. Why they are making so hard to the point that some might give up? Why they are crapping out on some of the designs? Why can't they just take pre-orders for as many as we want on the HasbroToyShop page if they want to hold to distribution issues being on the side of the stores? Things like that.

I got my newsletter today and since no one else mentioned it, was anyone else disappointed that someone had absolutely no clue where the stickers go on a sharc. Theres the huge Absolutely No Access sticker that goes in the back of the cockpit is plastered all over the canopy front and the Sharc Logos were on the Torpedos instead of the vehicle. If it was someone from MC that took the shots then they really should read the blue prints next time for the correct sticker placement.

There were SHARC logo stickers on both the torpedos AND the fins where they belong from what I can tell. And yeah the big sticker on the canopy better not be how it comes out in stores or I'll be severly pissed.

Deep Six looks a bit too much like the original BUT I think I can make him work somehow. Some Revoltech joints would work well to add articulation where needed.

The SHARC is just like I remember. Can't wait to get this one.

The hips on DeepSix should work fine with the ribbing resculpted and make the bottom of the suit have a "skirt". Drop 2 pegged ball joints and fix the ribbed area so it connects witht he ball joint. It should look fine like that and add plenty of articulation. I wouldn't expect a full seated postion to work if this were a real suit. The arms I'm still thinking about the best way to do them.

I can't see a peg sticking out for a hose to attach either. I don't know if the figure has the old feature. It can still work if the feature is there with the added hip articulation if it's done right. I want to customize one when they come out, so if Hasbro doesn't make it impossible to get, I'll make this one a priority and do several pictures.
