The vehicle itself appears to be a pretty straight re-release of the original, no alterations other than the addition of a peg on the bottom for 25th figures. Deep Six has been upgraded, but probably not to the degree we'd all hoped. New head, which looks a little cheery for the character, and added articulation. Still only swivel shoulders and still no hip articulation. He does have elbow, knee, and wrist joints.

Maybe for the 50th Anniversary we'll get a Deep Six that has full Joe style articulation.

Well, isn't there the Admiral pack and then a comic pack w/ Deep Six & Rock N' Roll listed? I could see a non-suited Deep Six showing up there. If so, this more articulated than original version would be fine (unless you live in some dream world where someone with a huge bulky dive suit should have the same range of motion as a ninja ;-) ).

Yeah, but some hip articulation would be nice.

I know this will never happen, but how sweet would it be to have a deep six with a removable suit?

Massive pass. No shoulder articulation? I don't care if his elbows & knees bend, without proper articulation he's no better than the hunk of "LASER BLAST" we got the first time around.

Hey now, don't knock my dream world. They know me there. ;)

I can't believe you guys are getting your newsletters already.

I'm all for a new Deep Six. With him coming out (and the rumored Conquest that should have Slipstream) I'll have all my favorite Joes in 25th form. I'm sure we can fix the articulation problems with this figure. I may have to invest in some of those japanese ball-joints though.

Yeah, massive pass on this. I flipped past the page as I thought it was some article about the original, and only looked twice at it due to this thread. I really don't understand where Hasbro's getting this idea that we collectors want the 25A figs to have the articulation the sub-par originals had. What's next, ArmorTech figs articulated like the Mattel 18th Batman fig?

What's really interesting about this issue is the cover pic of Python Patrol Night and Frag Vipers. Why isn't there anything in the mag about them?!?!?

He has shoulder articulation, but it's the same style as the '84 figure.

Dunno, Deep Six here is a perfect example of the question "Is it better to get a sub par version of a character, or no version at all?"

I'll buy this for Deep Six!

I'll reserve judgment until I see some good, hi-res images of Deep Six, but I agree that giving the 25th figures limited articulation to "pay homage" to the original figures is completely ____ing "LASER BLAST".

To me, the whole idea of the 25th line is to celebrate the characters and storyline while showing just how far sculpting and articulation have come in a quarter-decade-- these are the Joes of the 21st Century. Anything less is a step back.

By being a publishing company in the 21st century with no decent online presence and famous for selling phantom product. Why should they be any better at publishing?

I mean real shoulder articulation, not this Mattel crap. But yes, no version is better than a sub-par version.
