Ok, just on a whim, I've decided that I want a Stargate for my Joes/JCW worlds, so that I can tie all of my toy lines together if I wish. Trouble is, I don't know much about Stargate other than the movie. I should think that I would be able to make my own, but I've never done a custom like this before (I am not averse to buying one, but I imagine that making my own would be much more cost effective).

So what I need are the following

First, I need pointers to resources. Some good documentation on the glyphs and what not.

Suggestions on materials/technique from any who have taken this on previously.

I want this to be cheap (cost wise) practical and playable, so any input would be great!

There were some inexpensive model kits back in the day that IIRC, used the Stargate as a base for the figure. Could be useable.
