You know I realized that there are some Joe figures in the toy line that resemble Football players,

1985 Bazooka , the Joe's Missile Specialist, has the tools to knock out Cobra tanks, despite his aloof behavior.

1986 Fridge , as a former player for 'Da Berrs" the Fridge became part of the Joe team as a PT instructor.
and

1990 Capt. Grid-Iron , another Joe in a leadership capacity, everything about him was about football, his weapons, his uniform, heck, even his name!

But to round out the rest of the team, why not add a few more:

1987 Red Dog ,
one of the Sarge's Renegades, he was once a football player but was banned from the sport for unnecessary roughness.


and

1991 Tracker
a Navy Seal who wears a sports team Jersey. 'Nuff said.

Who'd be the linebacker? The punter? The QB? charging the field plowing thru a mass of Cobra football players just to make a touchdown? LOL

Heck, you could even have 1989 Scoop and 1990 Metalhead as commentators and do play by play.

Anyone up for making a Football team custom figures based on the Sports concept? Or a diostory even?

I responded your original post you deleted in the Dio/Fanfic section, then found this. So I'll just restate what I said over there. When I was in my early teens, I spent some afternoons playing "GI Joe Football" with my Joes on the top of my dresser. I had set up about 4 teams, and I even made up stats as I went along. I didn't base their abilities on the characters themselves, but on how "football" the figure looked. I still remember some of the "stars":

Sci-Fi - Quarterback
Alley Viper - Fullback
Spearhead - Fullback
Hit & Run - Running back
Rock Viper - Wide Receiver
Captain Grid Iron - Left Guard
Repeater - Defensive End
TARGAT - Devensive Tackle
Shockwave - Safety

Remembering this is making me want to pull out my Joes and run through some plays again.

I find it funny if Baseball player customs we're done with Grand Slam and 1988 Hardball.

Heck, Even Hockey!

Cobra Snow Serpents, EELS and Ice Vipers getting Checked with the hockey sticks by Snow Job, Frostbite, Iceberg, Blizzard, Sub-Zero and the Arctic 6-pack.

Maybe there should be versions of Home and Away team colors for the Joe Sports teams.
