hey everyone. does anyone have any tips on how to attach shoulder pads, such as the ones used by clone troopers and republic commandos, to gi joe upper arms/shoulders? i dremeled out a pair of republic commando shoulder armor pads, but im having trouble attaching them to the gi joe arm without it limiting articulation/getting in the way, or just plain falling off. any help will be greatly appreciateed |

I made a Wraith custom a few years ago. I made custom shoulder pads out of some kind of bubble packaging. To attach the pads to the figure, I used a strip piece of flat plastic (also cut from bubble packaging) and glued it to the inside of the pads and then to the back/shoulder blade area of the back. This way, it "floated" over the upper portion of the arm without actually touching it. I minimized the appearance of the plastic strip by placing a backpack over it. |

Depending on the shoulder pads, I think if they were two part, eg one pad per shoulder, you could attach them some how with a hinge, close to the neck, so when the arm is fully up right, it pushes it up at a angle. |
