Post subject:  Problems with paint curing

I used Testors spray finish on some figures (VvV Baroness) and for some reason, the paint hasn't cured. At all. After three weeks.

I was trying to determine which would give me the best look for a patent leather like look, so I sprayed one directly (being careful to get the thinnest coat I could) with Testors candy coat red, one with testors grey primer, and one with plasti-Kote metallic gold (looking to overcoat it later with a candy finish, per the instructions.) Neither the direct spray nor the primer have cured after three weeks. They are gummy, and come right off like the paint is still wet when touched.

Has anyone had this problem, and can anyone suggest a solution? Is there anyway to get this particular paint to cure after the fact? Or should I just round file these figures. The Plasti-kote worked great, by the way, but I haven't overcoated it yet, because of the other two not drying.

I think the round file is your best answer....I'd check the labels on your paints...some are only designed for certain substraits...seems like Testors paints are prone to not fully drying and remaining tacky. only suggestion I could think of is try another overcoat with a clear sealant...maybe that would fix the tackyness.
