Hey all! I've been working on a dio the last few weeks, and now I'm getting to the stage where the dio's about 80% done and in need of characters to fill it. One of the characters is a zombie. I'm using the GTG zombie head for the figure and tried various layers of different colors of paint, but none of them make the figure snap. Any tips on what colors to use and in what layered order to give the truly undead look?

Maybe start with a Flesh base...could do white or grey too...Depends on how dead you want your Zombie.

do a black wash

maybe some selective spots of red or brown for blood

a few spots of light green for decay

some Dark green and Black for Rot

another black wash

finish with a little dry brushing...prolly some grey...or a bit of that dark red brown

Flesh tends to get large areas of purples & reds were blood has pooled after an individual dies. Also, yellow is an appropriate color, skin tends to get yellowy after a bit. Green's good for areas of rot. Greys & whites is your zed's got an ashy long bled-out look. Of course spatterings of reds for blood; I like a mixture of brights & maroons. An overall black-wash tends to bring out details as well. It's pretty much a trial & error process till you get the look you like.
