Post subject:  Any base vehicle suggestions for this?

Hi there! Long time lurker, first time poster. Some of you might know me from the Fighting 1:18th and HISS message boards. I used to make just about any custom that entered my head, but now I largely concentrate on Terminator, Predator and ALIENS stuff.

Which brings me here.

I'd like to take a shot at the flying vehicle, referred to as a "coptor" (even though it isn't a rotary aircraft), seen in the first Aliens vs. Predator comic. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears. And I know the first thought might be to use an actual helicopter, but I'm worried that even with mods and extra parts, it will still mostly look like a helicopter. But that might be the best way to go.

Thank you!

I would look at some of the recent Paw Patrol or other kids lines for inspiration.

Currently there is a Spider-Man air vehicle with caged rotors on the wings that looks like a cross between the Sky Hawk, Cobra Sting Raider, and the Cobra Mantis Sub.

For years I have looked at various children's toy lines to get inspiration for a custom.

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I guess another factor I should have mentioned was that I'd like the base vehicle to be a two-seater. Sorry about that! :-(

Short of True Heroes Little Bird or Chinook or Joe Tomahawk/Eaglehawk helicopters there aren't too many in scale two seat options. I guess the ROTJ Imperial Shuttle does too, but not sure how much beyond the cokpit would be helpful.

DarkJedi reminded me of the Miles from Tomorrowland vehicle. You have to cut some room out for the legs and add sme beefer engines but the bulk of it is there.

2DARK's suggestion of the Ice Dagger/Ice Saber (blue Snow Cat looking vehicle is also a 2 seater).

Yeah, that Ice Saber looks like a solid base.

ha ha that ice saber was just in the image I picked of that one above it. I was just googling "the corpse flying vehicles" and got zero the corpse line.

you could start by splitting a one seater you like and add width in the center. or start with two one seater of the same base and cut them just right to affix together to the right width. both lots of work, but doable.

That is exactly the type of childrens lines I meant.

So many of those have unique designs that could now fit into that 5 years in the future style GIJOE was meant to be.
