So I'm finally going back to work on Fallout: NV Securitron custom.
I have a re-scaled 3-D printed body (I had access for a short time to a 3-D printer) but need to figure out arms and a wheel for him.

A JOE vehicle wheel seems right but I don't have any vehicles on hand to test it for scale. I was thinking maybe a 1990 Hammer or maybe a Ferret wheel? It has to be one with details on both sides.

For the arms...I'd like to have some articulation but would sacrifice it for something that looks right-- a ringed tube in that size (1/2 inch width) is something I just haven't come across.

a highlighter or other marker might make your arms. you could have diff. ends (marker caps) that pop on/off.

Could you post a pic of the torso next to a Joe? Too hard to get a sense of scale for suggestions for me otherwise. There's plenty of potential, but the size is the big decider.

Here's a pic showing it next to a Joe scale fig.

Oh, dang, bigger than I thought.

Thanks, now to ponder . . . .

I have some of this from the dollar store. a solid copper wire inside would give you full articulation that will hold in place.

many sizes are out there too.

a more expensive option, but worth a look. these should also give you full articulation with an internal wire. also many other types available.

My first thought was that robot design looks a lot like Disney Gizmoduck, which has a single wheel design.

As for a wheel, how about using one from the various Ninja Lightning motorcycle designs? Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow, and Kamakura all had their own versions.

I would also suggest the Wheel Blaster Bike that came with Firefly.

Thanks guys! I knew those arm tubes existed. I might try the hardware store to see if I can find them locally and in smaller lengths.

It's funny, I have that Firefly cycle on my workbench right now for a different project but I wanted to take out that middle wheel...I didn't know that it had an action feature that would make it so easy.
I think the wheel is too narrow for my use. I am leaning toward a Thundermachine tire even though I'm sure it only have the hubcap detail on one side. Or a motorcycle with a fatboy tire if I can find one around easily.

Finished-

IF I ever had access to a 3d printer again and the ability to do it again, there's a lot I'd change but overall I'm happy.

I really like the used look it has. Gives it an immediate history and character.
