This is just a little something I did last night when I was bored, and had some leftover Green Stuff from another project.

I always thought the worst thing about the Comic Pack Lady Jaye was the way they did the hairline at the part in her hair; it was so high up it looked like she either had a receding hairline or was doing a Jack Nicholson impression:



So what I did was mold Green Stuff into that area, then shape it to the hairline and smooth it as I went. The paint is a bit off but since this was just a quick fix (I plan to use the head in customs at some other point) I didn't worry too much about matching it:



Better?

The nice thing about the Green Stuff is when it fully cures it'll harden to the same consistency as the rest of her hair, resulting in a more natural, molded look. Anyway just thought I'd offer that up.

couple of questions re: greenstuff (just got mine in the mail)

how long does this take to fully cure out?

does it shrink or expand at all while/when curing?

did/can you store or save 'mixed' material?

Its a good improvement IF her hairline gives you heartburn. I kind of like the idea that she has a widow's peak under that mop. Actually either way I'm indifferent. BTW: Good quality sculpt job.

Green Stuff takes 12-24 hours, depending on how much you're using. I get impatient with my customs, but can usually start painting over GS after several hours. If you want to sand it or Dremel it, wait the full 24 hours.

It doesn't shrink or expand at all.

You can't store the mixed epoxy - it cures regardless of conditions.

24...why do I keep thinking 48? All the time I could have saved...good to know though, I'm using it right now to craft on, of all things, ears. Suddenly that set of sculpting tools I bought is paying for itself.

I start painting over it roughly 3-4 hours myself. Never have tried to sand/Dremel anything under 24 though; usually I like to go about 2-3 days before I do any of that to ensure it's solid. I've noticed it takes those acrylic inks Cap has mentioned (and generously gave me bottles of) like magic.



Thanks! That hairline was bugging me ever since I first saw it. Now to figure out what to do with the head--especially the mouth. Is it just mine or do all of them look like they had a mud pie for dessert?
