Hey all --

I'm making a 25A v1 SE in "original" colors -- before they decided to just use black plastic. I'd seen a shot from a sticker book or Shrinky Dinks or something where he's in camo pants and a dark blue(?) sweater, but I can't find the pic anywhere.

Does anyone have any pics of his intended paint pattern on hand that they can post/link for me?
Otherwise, I'll have to use my imagination -- and nobody wants that :P

Thanks!

So I guess now I have to pay royalties to Matt when I make this fig? :P

Sorta of. That figure has a blue upper torso and green pants.

See, that's kinda how I was (wrongly) remembering the paint scheme. Weird.

Hmmm, I might have to break the cardinal rule of trying to please the invisible "Them" and just go with what I think looks good. I already have a non-commando SE I made with SpyTroops parts, but I think I could use one with 25A stuff as well (it seems I have a few extra figs laying around :chiefty:) And I like the idea of a midnight-blue sweater and camo pants - I had planed to make a mini-version of the S6 "Commando" SE that just came out, but I think somebody already did that for the 'Con and I want to do my own thing.

Thanks for the assist guys!

if you really wanna get concept art of Snake Eyes, you need to find a pic of Hama's 'Spook' from Fury Force...

i know there's one around here somewhere...

That was Alyosha.

Funny thing is, one of the designers that worked on the S6 Commando SE thought Matt was dressed up as him, and the I (with my helmet off) was the S6 Flint. Even funnier, Matt and I had thought the same thing when we first saw those S6 figures.

Isn't there another version of Snake Eyes that surfaced in the last couple of years as the concept that turned into Snake Eyes? He had a differnt name but looked kind of like version 2 I think, this thread gor me thinking of it and I can't find it.

You mean the sketches Larry Hama did for his small team concept before getting the job writing GI Joe? He created a character named "Spook" - a sniper guy with a mask & cloak look to him.

Yeah, that ain't it, pLuv. Chief may be on the right track. I think Matthew or Chad_Ghost posted them. I could have sworn they were on YoJoe but I can't find it. I want to say it came out whne people started a thread about what Snake Eyes visor was called. It was a long time ago.

Actually, what Pluv posted was what I was thinking of. Click the link in my first post to Matt's Mayor fig - it has a pic that links to Yo Joe's pages.

I'll looked there again. I didn't see it though.

The picture that was drawn was of a guy in a cloak, he had a helmet and a eye visor on. He did have a cloak. He was facing 3/4 to the right. It was a full body sketch. Don't remember his weapon or his name (His name was cool enough though I'm surprized we didn't see it used for another fig.) It was a sketch and nothing more. It WAS NOT labeled as Snake Eyes but was like a precursor to him. He did look like the sketch that pLuv posted, but he was alone.

Well I just went and checked Toyfare #105 (where Larry talks about the sketches) and it wasn't in there.

What I thought was great, though was that in re-reading the interview, Larry Hama says that he dislikes the same things I do about GI Joe, namely:

Red/Blue lasers
Helicopter parachutes
Joe/Transformer Crossovers
Cobra La

And that's another reason why he's so awesome :P
