Stumped on this one. I have an Oktober Guard machine gunner (carries a Marauder RPK) all set to go, and am stumped on a name for him! Because I used a Tunnel Rat head I figured he would hail from Siberia, but trying to track down any name information is like pulling teeth. Anybody out there have suggestions? |

Alekhin was the name of the Yakut tracker (Siberian equivalent to a Native American) from Louis L'Amour's "Last of the Breed" (one of my all-time favorite books.) |

Naming OG guys is tough...other than Blue (whom I named for the streak in her hair) it's been a lot of head scratching. |

Maybe you could gather info or leads here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_names http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberia |

A few months back I believe GITrekker was looking for some names for new Oktober Guard customs and I posted a list of possible codenames. Unfortunately I think nthe thread was on the old board and it's probably gone now... It is possible he saved those names to peruse. If not I can dig through my Oktober Guard research and post the names again. Give me a day or two. (Maybe I'll PM you my OG characters to give you an idea) |

"Yermak" - he was the leader of the Cossacks that first took Siberia from Kuchum Khan. |

Okay, I'll arrive at my decision what to name him, using the above suggestions, through a very scientific means.... I'll put all the names in a hat and the one I pick he gets. |

alot of my cutom Oktober Guard figs are named after russian authors and characters from folktales. Dostovesky(sp?) wrote a novel "The House of the Dead" about a man in a Siberian prison. Good name probably found there. |
