I've noticed ALOT of the Stun's on Ebay have broken flag posts...like the one I'm getting. :rotfl:

I was also thinking "Gee, wouldn't it be better to replace that stupid plastic flag post with some kinda wire"

But how would I attach it to the base and the flag?

Any ideas?

Probmlem is the plastic all gets brittle....from the flag all the way down to the base...so you're really out of luck if you're hoping to "repair" the poles.

A better choice would be to Replace them...like you said....use some wire or some plastic dowel...for the flag, you can prolly get away with just printing out a replica on a sticker paper so when it's folded in half around the pole it forms the Flag shape.

You could try cutting up an RC car aerial...those seem pretty durable.

The weird thing about the stun flags is that they only seem fragile in their original incarnation. Red, original Stun flags pretty much disintegrate if you look at them, but I still have my childhood Python Patrol Stun, and its original flags are 100% intact, even after being stored in a big garbage bag with a bunch of other vehicles for years and at least 4 moves since. Something about the plastic used on the originals, I guess (something akin to the "gold plastic syndrome"?).

From what I hear G2 Slingshot has a reputation all his own. There were other Transformers made with gold/golden brown plastic during that period, but none inspire cursewords like Slingshot. (I'll bet your Slingshot looked like Bruticus or Devastator found Superion's weak point and wailed on it.)
My advice? Find a decent G1 (white) Slingshot, use a #0 Phillips to break him down, strip the decals then spray all of the white parts with Gold spray paint (or some other gold paint). Also beware: 1989's Skyhammer, and 1994 G2 Laser Rod (Volt?) are made out of the same craptacular stuff, as is Night Creeper Leader v2's whole parts tree. :nightcreeperleader:
