I got to thinking last night while I wasn't able to fall asleep that I could do with some high ranking Cobra officers. I was thinking like a general or two to hang around with CC. The thing I was wondering was what sort of color scheme would a Cobra general's uniform have and also if I should just go with something simple and accessible like a Dovchenko from IJ and just repaint him, or try cobbling one together from 25th Joe parts? If I were to go the Joe route, whose parts would look best for that sort of figure?

IG Destro would make a great base. As far as colors, can't go wrong with blue, black and gold.

the only problem with that is that Destro figure is damn near impossible to find here. I've only seen the comic pack version and I'm keeping him as-is. Plus its a little too easily identifiable as Destro/IG. I want to keep the look somewhat geared more in the realm of the semi-plausible military look that the early Cobras had. That way he'd blend in decently with the troops I've got now. Though, I will keep that Destro in mind if I make a more "eccentric" officer further down the line.

If you're wanting a battlefield type then I'd go with the Trooper legs and arms on a Duke torso.

For a more dressy general try the Crimson Guard torso and arms with Cobra Commander legs.

Or a mix of the two with CG torso and arms with Trooper legs. Actually that's a pretty cool idea right there I think.

I copied the generic cobra leader from NFC< just switching a head to the abundant CC figures.

You could add a cape, a sword, or whatever.

Heck, the CC figures outnumber troopers in my collection, lol.

excellent suggestions, guys. I'll certainly have to put some of those to use once I get my hands on some extra CGs/Troopers. In the meantime, I thought I'd try my hand at my first idea of using Dovchenko. Let me say, I HATE trying to mod t-crotches to ball joints, but I pulled it off. This also used my very last ball-n-socket waist joint, so I won't be able to do these anymore after this. I also love that those Baron Fel boots look almost exactly like the Vipers' boots. Lemme know how you think he's coming.

That looks pretty damned cool. I can't even imagine the work in changing the socket type or even just opening up an IJ figure.

Looking good! Can't wait to see the final product!

I also use the CC bodies for some of my "Generals"
