I used some Matte finish dull coate to preserve a few customs and the plastic had a reaction that made them sticky to the touch. Is there anything that I can apply to them to return them to there original finish or am I just screwed.

i've had this happen, too. with clear finishes, and also spraypaint, especially on the more 'rubber' type plastics.

typically i'll just put another coat of paint on it, and let it dry, then spray again, or
i'll try to 'quick cure' the finish by leaving it in front of a fan overnight, or
i'll try a different type of finish over the top, like a gloss or semi-

good luck!

I use matte finish spray on my customs and have encountered this problem a few times before but there is a solution.

Before you spray your customs, make sure that you shake the aerosol can for at least 1-2 minutes. It also helps when you aim and spray at least 10-12 inches from the custom. I found that doing this works every single time and I no longer get sticky customs after spraying them...

I hold the can waaay back and do a few passes of light dusting with the clear coat.

I've also found that brushing on a clear coat can take away the tackiness.

I guess I'll hang Scarlett outside for a few days then. Testors used to make a fine enamel dull cote but now all we have to work with is this blasted lacquer :-/
