Hey all! I’ve been tons busy lately, but I’m still around! Right now I’m on a “special assignment” for the re-launch of Commando Customs...if you didn’t know that was happening...well, now you do! Anyway, I’m not gonna tell you much about that, except that you should expect it relatively soon, and it’s gonna be changed up a bit.

Anyway, my assignment is to write an article for the relaunch about why we do this crazy thing called customizing. So putting my brilliant reporting skills to work (yeah, they haven’t been used since I wrote for the high school paper...) I’m just gonna toss my questions out here instead of PMing a gazillion people.

The questions are below and anyone who want to answer any or all of em, please PM me your answers. (If you post it here, what fun will the article be, hmmm?) I won’t be able to specifically mention responses from everything that comes in, but you never know what gems I WILL use, and hey, if you’re a good sport I might come back and ask you more questions for something later. And if I get more stuff than I can put in one article, I’ll do this one in installments.

If you don’t mind the possibility of being mentioned or quoted, please include your preferred screen name and the sites where you most often post your work. If you prefer one of those above the rest, lemme know. Even if you’d rather not be mentioned specifically, you can still help the article by answering the questions...just tell me you don’t want mentioned.

New to customizing? Cool. I want responses from veterans and newbies alike. I’m not so far out of newb-dom myself.

Feel free to answer any or all of these questions:

What's your favorite medium to work with?

What's your favorite part of a customizing project?

How long have you been customizing?

Why did you start customizing?

Why do you do it now?

What do you see in your customizing future (in other words, what skills do you want to improve, what do you want to try that you maybe haven't, how long do you see this going on, stuff like that)?

What inspires you to do this?

What was your favorite custom to do and why (so far)? (you can include a pic and lemme know if it's ok to use it in the article if I want)

I think that gives me enough fodder to work with! Thanks a ton for participating!

And please send me your responses by August 25!!!

Thanks to all who responded! I'm having a ton o'fun with this, and I ended up with enough stuff for 2 installments. ;) If you helped me out, expect a PM with an additional question I thought of for the second installment. :)

I'll update you all on when you should look for the article!

So, maybe you've been wondering what happened to all this since I asked my Qs back in, wow, August! Well, I didn't take your answers and run! After a ton of behind the scenes stuff and making changes to the site that I think you'll really like, sev54 has officially declared that Commando Customs is ready to reopen! I don't want to steal any of his thunder, so I'll just say you should expect me to post up the new link for the new

Commando Customs...

TOMORROW!!! So if you weren't a member before, and don't get the mass email that I'm sure will go out, come here to get it!

On the front page you'll find the article I wrote ("What makes customizers tick, part 1") and you should expect me to ask some more questions for part 2 soon!

So...see ya tomorrow on CC!
