Depending on the parts and plastic, I used Testor's Flat Black, and Krylon's Flat Black and Semi-Flat Black. The Krylons were even able to prime the almost impossible polyethelene plastics.

Eric, this is the problem: Krylon changed the formula in those. I used the semi-flat black to prime everything (that wasn't going to be white). Now that I can no longer use those I'm at a crossroads as to what to try next. I've gotten some great help so far though.

I said earlier I'm using Krylon ultra flat tan camo paint made with Fusion (for plastic). That's what I used on my TF chess set with no tackiness problems. BUT I just used it on a 25A figure, and it turned out tacky. No idea why. Especially the arms and legs. Ugh.

They're a softer plastic or vinyl, Mac.

Then John and I seem to both be in the same artistic boat. I used the very same Krylon spray, and am down to my own last half of a can.

Does anyone use Tamiya spray? I bought a can for some resin miniature battlestars and I'm curious how it compares to the other stuff already mentioned.

Well, the chess set is made of surprisingly soft plastic that's got a lot of give to it. Which is why I figured it would work equally well on the figure.

Mac, it most likely would be fine then.
