Thanks to the guys in chat I went down to Radio Shack and found a big bright LED light and nickle size battery to run it for the Indiana Jones Ark.

The Raiders of the lost Ark wrote:
Major Eaton: What is this? Coming out of here.
Dr. Jones: Lightening. Fire. Power of God or something.
Major Eaton: I'm beginning to understand Hitler's interest in this.
Prof. Brody: Oh, yes. The Bible speaks of the Ark leveling mountains and laying waste to entire regions. An army which carries the Ark before it is invincible.

What's the finish like inside the Ark? Is it that same gold chromed looking color as the outside? If not, I wonder if it would work, if you were to spray it a chrome color, then turn the light upside down so it faces the chromed inside and then reflects out, kinda like the headlights on a car. I have no clue if this would work or not, maybe experiment with a small mirror or some aluminum foil inside, but it'd look pretty cool with it opened and a huge beam of light shinning out.

Either way, that's pretty cool and a neat little set up.

It is painted a sand color on the inside bottom. My dad suggested using gold leaf foil ton the inside to give it that reflective look your talking about. Pointing the light inside wouldn't help with that. In fact it might make it worse. My goal here was to not alter the ark at all but to add another play feature to it. Now if only I could fit a Spirit of Obi Wan in there somehow. :D

It was two sperate parts. The LED light was about $3. They had cheaper but I got the biggest white light one they had. The power supply was another piece and was $2 on clearance or something but it included the battery.

Damn, beaten to it. I've been planning something like this since I saw the pics of the playset, but still can't find one around here.

As far as the ghost, they released a holographic Emperor Palpatine a few years back (I think it might have been a TRU exclusive, but not a real hard to find one) that would probably work great. Have someone cast a skull replacement head with transparent resin, and you'd be set.

I'm sure he doesn't know. Because if he opened it to check, he wouldn't have been here to post about it.

Well, I saw the adventure hero ark and couldn't help myself. It is too cute not to use. I also found some balloon lights at Wal-Mart in the wedding isle of their craft section. You get two for $3 with an 8 hr battery life. They are about the size and shape of a bullet. Once I removed some of the top the protective casing, it popped right into a small hole I dremeled in the bottom of the spirit figure.
