after the B.E.T. i did and the request for a Dio on Cobra taking the BET,
i decided to make cobra commander in the seashell inside of cobra la
Cobra commander is an entire sculpt except the arms and the waist, which i got from some 99 cent store Super Military Soldiers!
the inside of the shell is Hot Glue inside of a cut up DVD case

Comments are very welcome wether good or bad!

Looking good (if a bit disgusting) so far. Looks like Cobra Commander is in for a very bad day.

That looks real cool, is there a certain method to use with the glue? I think it could open up some real cool things for little diorama bases.

well i've been using hot glue for a while on lots of projects!
take a look at the Golobulus i made using hot glue
http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... =G&id=7601
i just use the glop and pull technique, for instance i put a circle of hot glue and just started to pull it at certain points to get that effect. and the tentacles i just put droplets of glue let them dry and add more droplets to the length desired!!!
drop a glop of glue where ever you want to start at grab a pointed object and pull the glue to where ever you want it to end!
practice it if you don't get it the first time! its a really cool and inexpensive way to spruce up some figures/vehicles and playsets!

Cool and thanks, I may have to use that for some vines in a bigger "stand" I want to make for my Indy figures, I wonder if I could even make some snakes out of it too, maybe coat some clipped up twisties from my left over packaging with it, that way they could still bend. What's the best way to avoid the little "hairs", I remember when I used it in the past, there was always little hairs of glue when you pulled the gun away.

well there will always be little hairs! so what i do when i dont want them is wait till its totally dry and then just use the glue gun (without the glue) to melt it off. like i said before it takes some practice ,but not much! its really easy to use!
can't wait to see your creations with the glue!

Submit this to an art gallery. Name it "Marriage".

Seriously, good stuff. The tentacle effect is quite clever.

Man, he really let his waffle iron get away from him....

What are you planning on using for the shell-look for the outside?
