I wanted to ask all of you and get a general voice on it, do you all mind if I add my critiques in? I realize that's what the forum topic says, but given I'm pretty well known that can cause problems with some people. I don't want to be overbearing or seem like an ass if I give suggetions about something someone spent time and effort on. But my intentions are always honest, to help someone progress their skills. Without trying to put myself like some kind of authority on customs, I have viewed thousands upon thousands of them and have a pretty good eye for what will impress others and how to go about that. So sometimes I'll suggest things, or point out a small flaw, helpful stuff. I just want to make sure it's ok with all of you before I do.

Yeah, the only way we grow as customizers is through feedback and suggestions.

....of course, I reserve the right to spend hours in the alley behind an Outback Steakhouse screaming at the heavens should you not like one of my customs.

As long as it's not in the alley behind my house waiting for me to take out the trash so you can make me scream at th heavens before my untimely demise!

There might be some who just want a good :arsekisser: critique, but I know I like a good scathing review so I can work on getting better.

I think it's a great idea to leave honest feedback.
I know I've always been honest with your stuff, both on here and TNI.

Jin, that is honestly what this forum is for. If someone doesn't like what you have to say in a polite critique, then they don't have to accept your suggestions. If they truly get bent out of shape over it and violate the board's respect rule, then the mods will handle it.

But I don't think it will come to that. I don't think anyone here will feel like you dropped the floor out from under them if you post an unpraising comment. Besides you're that guy who does those ML customs and are just dabbling in Joes. Your Joe-celebrity status is still minimal. :D

By 'personally', do you mean 'showing up at my house and ripping me a new one to my face'? Yeah, I can do without that.

Jin,

I cant and wont speak for anyone else, but I know I would feel honored to have your comments on any custom that I posted. I truly do like honest and sometimes brutal crits. I post so that I can learn more. That is why your site is booked marked along with this and others...

I don't know who you are or why your opinion would carry more weight than anyone elses so I don't understand what all the fuss is about.

i feel that if you can't take the Critique then you should not post in Critiques!
just submit them to the site!

Feel free to critique any of my customs as well good or bad. I think most people here will agree that Joecustoms is one of the few sites out there that appreciate honest critques and use those critiques to better the skills. I have been on other sites where people will put down a good customs in a very harsh manner because they are jealous that their own skills aren't as good as the person they are critiquing. Critiques like that only hurt the customizer because it discourages them from posting future customs, limiting their growth as a customizer. The only way to learn to learn is from your own mistakes. I was originally was just a vehicle customizer and never thought I had the skills to paint custom figures. After dabbling in Transformer customs for a year and refining my painting skill I finally got the courage up to custom figures for the first time and I have been having the best time finally creating all these figures that I always wanted but never got.

If you want to critique anything I've done feel free to browse my custom gallery in the link below.

Feel free to PM or email with any critques you have good or bad.

If I ever get the time to post anything again, critique away.
An honest opinion whether positive or negative is always welcome.
So bring it on.
