Hey all.

Finally got my Target exclusives and was really disappointed with Crank Case. Not only did his proportions make him look like a hobgoblin, but the paint on my guy's arms and face was all screwy. So it gave me an excuse to tweak him.

I shaved down his face to thin it out and make him look a little less like Rocky Dennis. Then I swapped in some less bulgy forearms. I actually like him lots better now.

For Grand Slam, I just couldn't abide the third rehash of that fugly head (best it's looked was when used for Grunt, but not on the Grunt figure). So I replaced it with one I've been saving.

Since I always saw GS as sort of a senior guy, the touch of gray in the hair is really working for me. And the headset seemed to make perfect sense for a guy who spends so much time airborne. I actually have a painted version of the jet pack, but it wasn't dry as of the photo.

Finally, I have to thank Hypno for hooking me up with that Chap Mei dive suit. Now my 25th Deep Six has the ultimate accessory.



What do you think?

First you'll need to fix Crankcase's crotch to get him to fit right in the AWE Striker. That's something I did right away and the results are well worth it. I used Testors Acryl British Gulf Armor and it matches the factory pants color very closely.

Second, the improvements you made are nice. The thinner face on Crankcase looks good.

Deep Six is of course brilliant in my honest opinion. Love the use of the harpoon gun on the dive suit. I may have to update mine with that little piece. Very very cool. And the head on Deep Six fits well too. I like it!

Replacing those Popeye forearms improves the Crankcase figure quite a bit.

Cool Deep Six, too. Is the hat from the '85 Shipwreck or the 25A one?

Love the Deep Six -- I really need to finish painting my dive suit so I can get mine ready. The only thing that isn't working for me is the dixie cup on D6's head - but the Flash head is perfect - looks exactly like he did in his first appearace.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I'd been wanting to do up that dive suit ever since I saw someone else's (may well have been yours, Stranger) and it's fast become one of my favorite pieces. Can't recommend it enough.

I'm not sure about Deep Six and his suit. Something is just off, I think I need to see it on my shelf to get the full effect.

I absolutely love that Deep Six, or shall I say Deep Star Six. Been a fan of that suit ever since the movie showed it many years ago. All he needs is a hot love interest and a lobster mutation to bite him in half.

I love your Deep Six. Idea Stolen. My SHARC is just a sttin' around rigt now anyway. The Crankcase is mush improved for sure. You really need to paint the JUMP on Grand Slam there. It makes it look way better. I love the head though.
