My SHS-style Nick Fury custom has been a work in progress for a LONG time.

I had the body pretty picked out and touched up last year. Then experimented with different we gear and belts for a while until I found a combo I liked. The head was the hardest part. I just couldn't find a base head that was square-jawed and weather-beaten enough to pass as the time-hardened head of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Then I got a hold of a couple of Ash heads from Army of Darkness.

After modding one some, I think I'm convinced that Bruce Campbell should play Fury in the Captain America movie.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents came together pretty quickly thereafter and are mostly just accessories to Nick.

Nick is great, though I prefer the Steranko dark blue/black and orange jumpsuit. For the agents, give 'em some webgear so they look less like the Fantastic Four.

Supposed to be Woo and Gabe Jones then? Nifty. Maybe make that new Umaga Build N' Brawl into Dugan.

Shucks - I thought these were going to be 25A customs :-/

Still, they pretty much rock :D -- you're right about Bruce being a great choice for Fury. I've long believed that he's the one and only actor who could play Flint in the GI Joe movie, but now that he's a little older, he'd be perfectly cast as Fury.

I really dig the web gear combo on Nick, but I'd paint the grenades another color just to make them look a tad different and not so "fake". The CP Mara Jade guns/holsters are inspired -- I'm glad I have a few extras - I'm gonna do the same.

I can't believe you had two blue MMs to spare -- I've got one here that I'm saving for the "perfect custom" because I know I'll never find another - they're so hard to find. But I guess you were stocking up back in the day (I remember the 500 or so green MMs you seemed to have :P )

Great work Spinny - now you've motivated me to start my 25A Shield customs.

Thanks for the kind words and helpful suggestions, gents.

I'm already working on web gear for the agents and will be painting up those grenades tonight.

Good eye on the agent I.D.s, Hypno. I was wondering if anyone would catch the intent. I've also got a Clay Quartermain in the works and will definitely keep my eye out for a suitable Dugan base figure.

Chief, I've started repurposing a lot of the Micromen I used in my anniversary project since the real 25th figures started coming out. I can't even describe how much that line has exceeded my expectations. I've never been happier to retire customs.

That said, anyone need any green material force?

;)

I'll post updated pix of these on e those tweaks have been made.

Thanks again.

I like the agents and the body of Fury. Not a big fan of that head for him though. Not your fault but I feel that head looks more like Kevin Klein than it does Bruce and Klein is no Fury.

I've gotta agree with pluv....that head doesn't scream Nick Fury to me. He needs to be meaner looking. When I see Bruce's face I just think of the Ash character and can't take him seriously.

They look great, though. The sculping of the eye-patch looks superb!

Great work!

Agreed. That head doesn't really say Nick Fury. A bit of too young looking and the hair being too long.

Made some tweaks to Fury and his boys on the advice of my esteemed colleagues.

Thanks for the inpout, guys. I'm really happy with how these turned out (and I apologize to those who just can't get into the head for Fury...now that I'm sold on it, I'm hearing Campbell's voice in my head, so I can't very well get rid of it).

;)
