Post subject:  A-10 Warthog Custom (PTE Repaint)

Let me start off by saying that I love the A-10. Its been one of my favorite airplanes since I was a little kid. While I enjoyed the Ratter and all the repaints that came from that mold it just wasn't a real A-10. Elite toys tried to put out a decent A-10 but it ended up being more garbage. Then Power Team Elite came along and made what I think is one of the best A-10 molds that I have seen so far, not counting any foreign molds. While I loved the PTE A-10 I never was a fan of the Gray paint scheme, it always seem so boring and bland. Well after alot of painting I finally have a A-10 plane that I have been wanting for 20 years. Nothing has been modded and most of the detail painting was done by hand including the Warthog markings (Teeth, Eyes, Nose and Ears) on the front of the plane. There are few stickers on the plane but nothing to fancy. Im going to include a few pics of the plane here but if you would like to see more pics please visit my customs page by clicking the following link:

Well, I was expecting a Tiger Force paintjob to be honest.....

But this rocks just as hard :D -- really great job with the paintjob and all the details.

That is incredible. Now all you need is to customize an Ace in a more realistic paint scheme and a bbi helmet, then you're ready to fly. Awesome job as always.

Awesome work (as usual) Carn! Gives off a very "scale model" feel to it! Glad you now have the plane you always wanted. :)

Awesome job! I love it!!!

Is it to scale? Can you take a picture with a figure standing next to it so we can better see the proportions? I'm thinking about acquiring one as well now :-D

Remster try http://www.joedios.com/dioramas/showima ... chid=25773 that shows a fig next to it and Ace in the cockpit. Also included a pic of the PTE A-10 under a Cobra Rattler for size difference.

I love it. I'm a big A-10 fan as well. One of the bases my dad was stationed at was an A-10 base. I got to watch these guys fly around all day. You'd think since they are slower they wouldn't be fun to watch but they can turn on a dime so just watching manuevers is fun.

When I got mine the first thing I was going to do was make it a Rattler, but it is just so impressive I had to keep it for the Joes. I put some Tiger force sticekrs on teh front so it would atleast have the eyes and teeth. Yours is just great. It really brings me back. The warthog detailing looks fantastic. I like the weathering you give it too. I am curious if your doing a custom pilot for it.

I do plan on making a Custom Pilot for him using a 25th Wild Weasel body and 25th Ace Head. Im trying to finish up my Python Patrol Condor and Tiger Force Conquest this weekend then I will probably start on the figure for the A-10. As far as where to get them, you might want to try Toyrus or Biglots. I looked the other day an my TRU is still carrying them for $29.99.

Hmmm I don't suppose you're planning a trip to France in the upcoming weeks, are you? :shifty:

You could always pack a carry on with clothes and bring two empty suitcases and come to the US and pick up your Blackhawk and the PTE A-10. :-P
