This may be the first-ever vehicle custom I've posted.
I'd been trying to figure out a decent aircraft for WW to use -- up until I got the 25A fig, I never gave a rat's ass about the character (or Cobra's Air Force, for that matter.) But I dug the 25A WW so much that I had to get him something special. I never liked the Rattler - the original toy was lame and too small. Modding a PTE A-10 was not an option because a) it's too big and b) I love the A-10 in real life (even got to sit in one), so the bad guys aren't getting my favorite gear
So I figured a Conquest might do the trick -- I'd never had one as a kid, but it looked funky enough to be a Cobra plane. So after losing several auctions on Ebay (the first being a sweet Python Patrol Conquest), I finally got a couple of cheap parts lots that enabled me to build a complete X30 for next to nothing.
Then my plan was to paint it Cobra blue, but the blue spraypaint I had was too bright, so I opted for a "crimson" color instead:
I still need to apply some decals when I get the time, and I realized that the gray from the original Conquest is still showing on that one seam (although it's not noticeable in person), but I really like the way some of the blue from the first coat is showing through - gives it a nice look, IMO. The red is actually much darker in person - I gave it a "dusting" of black spraypaint and it has almost a blood red color now.
I'm really happy with the size of the plane - it fits perfectly with my Joe Thunderwings and isn't too big to display or play with.
