Re: North American Joint Counter Terrorism Unit Field Commander

Hawk,

Enclosed you’ll find the first report regarding the status of the new North American Joint Counter Terrorism Unit. Officially it’s still listed under that name, however a lot of the boys here have taken to calling it the “Devil’s Brigade”, in honour of the First Special Service Force. Again I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for recommending me for Command of the Unit. I won’t disappoint you.

The selection phase is over, and the first recruits should be arriving within 48 hours to begin training. As with the original Brigade all members are highly qualified in stealth tactics; hand-to-hand combat; the use of explosives for demolition; parachuting; rock-climbing, and amphibious assaults, mountain warfare, and urban combat

I’ve put together a brief over view of the members to bring you up to speed.

First up, the Units Field Commander, Daniel Quinn, call sign Paladin

File Name : Quinn, Daniel (Danny)

Primary Military Speciality: Infantry

Secondary Military Speciality: Counter-terrorism/special reconnaissance

Birthplace: Kingston, Ontario

Bio: Born into a military family, Paladin has a unique special forces pedigree. His father served with distinction as an infantry commander with Canadian Peace Keepers in Cyprus and the Golan Heights and his mother served in the British Royal Navy as an intelligence officer. Both his grandfathers served in WW2, one under Lord Lovat and the other with the original First Special Service Force.

Paladin attended Royal Military College in his home town of Kingston and graduated top of his class. From there he was recruited into the Canadian’s Special Force Unit JTF2 and received training in Counter-terrorism/special reconnaissance. The exact details of his service with JTF2 are still sealed though it is suspected that the commanded squads in Afghanistan, Iraq and Central Africa.

Personal observations from Maj. Pulaski

Paladin’s every commanders dream and probably a nightmare for his enemies. In addition to his military education, it appears that his parents and grandfathers had a hand in his training. He still carries his grandfathers V-42 combat knife and during one CQC session demonstrated it’s use with freighting results. According to his instructors at RMC, prior to enlisting in the military, he held three black belts (Goju Karate, Kobodo, and Jujitsu)was fully versed in command procedures and displayed a aptitude for intelligence work. He can speak four languages (French, German, Russian and Arabic) and is a qualified expert with all NATO small arms. What was unsealed in his file indicates that he’s received training from the SAS, US Rangers and German Kommando Spezialkräfte.
