Something I'm really excited about is my 25th Deep Six. Its a v.1 style update using the Animal Planet Deep Sea Adventure dive suit that I've been eyeing for a while. I like the way the figure came out too.

S.H.A.R.C. (Submersible High-speed Attack Recon Carapace) - The new S.H.A.R.C. suit is the latest in deep sea exploration equipment. Using a design developed by the Cousteau Institute, the S.H.A.R.C. is the most advanced deep sea diving suit ever developed. Its has both active and passive sonar, enhanced decompression technology allowing for rapid ascents, additional air tanks for rescue operations as well as a state of the art defense system made up of low level stealth capabilities and twin high intensity laser cannons. Capable of diving to depths in excess of 7,000 meters the S.H.A.R.C. has allowed Deep Six to set several dive records.

SHARC: Animal Planet Deep Sea Adventure dive suit
Head: Chief Torpedo cast
Torso, arms: 25th Comic Pack Snake-eyes
Upper legs: 25th Cobra Trooper
Lower legs: 25th Shipwreck

Next is a simple repaint of the new Torpedo mold. I'm sure we'll get a Wet-suit eventually but for now here's my cartoon style diver. I'd like to do more 'toon style suits but painting orange is a paint in the ass.

Head: Spy Troops Tomax
Body, air tanks, weapons: 25th Torpedo
Helmet: SW Comic Pack Luke Skywalker

Image

I've had this Tele-viper done for a few days now but got sidetracked by other projects and haven't posted him until now.

Head, mic, backpack, comm rig: Spy Troops Tele-viper
Torso, hands, belt: 25th Cobra Trooper
Arms: 25th Duke
Legs: 25th Snake-eyes
Vest: 25th Beachhead

Image

And Major Barrage is just a simple headswap and minor repaint. I like the look of the DTC figure with the big burly arms but they just don't fit too well with the rest of my 25th figures. I like this look better for him anyway.

Head: DTC Major Barrage
Body, vest: 25th Beachhead
Rifle: Marauder Inc.

You suck!!!

I bought that dive suit last week and was just putting the final touches on MY Deep Six. I hate you so, so very much right now..... :P

I also planned a similar WetSuit custom using the Torps body with the Comic-pack Luke helmet but I hadn't started it yet -- I'm loving the way yours looks, so I'm glad the combo works (hadn't pieced it together yet.)

Everything looks perfect all the way around -- I REALLY like the paint job you gave the Deep Six suit and how you swapped out the camera for some guns. Now I have to re-do mine and copy yours (again, you're an a-hole for that :P ) -- And calling it the new SHARC is just all kinds of awesome. :D

I made Chief's "LASER BLAST"! YAY! :D

I'm not completely happy with Wet-suit. The head just doesn't work that well for me but its all I had available and he'll just wear the helmet until I find a better one (had the T-crotch Wet-suit but lost him in the fire last year)

And the SHARC suit is something I've wanted to do since I saw it a couple months ago. I just found one this weekend and blam-o there ya go. Deep Six was just an afterthought really and just fell together. I'm very pleased with both of them.

Can't wait to see what you do with it Chief.

Man, between you & iwbeta stealing all my ideas before I have them and then making better customs than me, it's a wonder I still hang out here :P

I'm not feeling that head for Wetsuit either. But I don't like the t-crotch version, so I'm at a loss as to what to use for mine as well. The great thing about 25A figs is that the heads pop off, so I can make a "commando SEAL" body for WS and just swap heads between that one and the diver version. Maybe I can use one of my pissed-off looking BBI heads.

So when you painted the Chap Mei suit - did you disassemble it and so forth, or just mask everything off and do it that way? I had no intention of doing any painting on mine other than to change the "Deep Sea" logo on the front to say "Deep Six" :P But now after seeing how much yours reminds me of the v1 Deep Six, I've got to give mine the same treatment. I got mine at Big Lots, so I'm wondering if it was painted different than Animal Planet version (mine's bleach-white with a big #25 "Rescue Squad" painted in orange on the helmet.)

Can't get over how cool yours looks.

A-hole......

:P

Great work here MS! The SHARC is my favorite of the group for sure. Not too crazy about Major Barrage though, I still think Beachhead. I really like Wetsuit, the red with black is one of my favorite color combinations. Nice approach to the Tele-Viper too. Is the helmet removable? These are too cool, now where can I get one of those dive suits?.

the torpedo repaint is sweet looking. I like that one alot. I saw that dive robot suit thingy at big lots yesterday.
I did do my Barrage and used his regular arms with the roadblock torso and it looks good,
Tim

Did you get the Animal Planet Deep Sea Adventure dive suit at retail or online? It's great!

Chief - Mine was the same bleach white with the orange lettering on top (which was a [LASER BLAST] and a half to cover) and I didn't disassemble it at all. Its all hand painted so it took a little time. I picked it up Friday night and tried the light gray paint I had and it didn't cover worth a damn so I picked up a bottle of Dark Ghost Gray and it worked much better than I had expected. And I had the "Deep Sea" logo painted yellow to tie in more with the v.1 Deep Six but after 4 coats of yellow it still wouldn't cover up, even with a light gray coat under it. So it got the gray paint as an accent.

As for Wet-suit, I'm thinking of trying to scrape off Barrage's beard and changing the hair color a bit and using that for Wet-suit. And your idea of having a dry uniform sounds great so that Barrage I posted might become Wet-suits dry uniform.

daremo - The Tele-viper head is from the Spy Troops line so the helmet isn't removable. I wish it was. And I picked up the dive suit at TRU in the kiddie learning toys section.

JFAK - Like I said I got the dive suit at TRU in the learning toys section (was looking for the Mega Bloks stuff) It was $15.99 for the suit, a figure with some dive gear, a big pike looking fish, an octopus thing and a nice sized raft with small outboard motor. Not a bad deal I thought. Hearing about it being at Big Lots makes me want to check them out and find another cuz I think Cobra could use a version of this as well.

Sorry that was confusing. I mentioned that twice in the same post and I guess as I was trying to address everyone's questions I got a little wordy. Its late and I'm still a little cross-eyed from all the customizing this weekend. :D I scoured that section at my TRU for a second set and they didn't have any more. They did have a neat set with a minisub/DSRV kinda thing but I spent my fun budget already or I'd have picked that up too.

Check the Big Lots, too John -- that's where I found mine. They had Chap Mei sets for $10 - one came with the dive suit & a giant squid and the other one came with a pretty sweet scuba sled and a shark.

The suit is awesome. I bought one over the summer, but chose not to start painting it, because i probably wouldn't finish. Your's is exactly what I would love to have.

The comic luke helmet is awesome for the diver.

Your Barrage really just looks like an un-masked Beachhead. Ever since someone (can't remember his name) gave BH a big mustache, it's hard for me to see anything else in this custom.

Yeah Barrage just looks off the more I look at it. That's why I stole Chiefs idea and made that body Wet-suits dry uniform. I gave him a different head too which I'll post tonight. Its more Wet-suit-ish I think. The Barrage head will just have to go back into the fodder pile until that comic pack Copperhead comes out.

Your Deep-Six inspired a trip to Big Lots today. Consider the idea borrowed indefinitely (err...ok, stolen). Love the X-wing helmet for a diver. Can't wait to find Torpedo at retail to try a few customs myself.
