Excerpt from transcript of recorded psychological evaluation
Administer: Psych-Out
Patient: Shana "Scarlett" O'hara
Psych-Out: "Shana, I need to address the incident that took place last week. The altercation between you and Ophelia."
Scarlett: *no response*
Psych-Out: "Look, I don't like this any more than you do, but--"
Scarlett: "Save it."
Psych-Out: "Excuse me?"
Scarlett: "Considering that I'm the one facing court martial...or whatever it is we have these days...and you're the one sitting behind the desk in a comfortable chair, I'm going to reserve the right to like this a lot less than you do."
Psych-Out: "That's fair, I guess. But Winters and Gibbs have ordered me to conduct an evaluation of you following the...altercation."
Scarlett: "Well, if Winters and Gibbs ordered you...."
Psych-Out: "I want you to start by telling me about the mission to New Moon."
Scarlett: "I've already told that story."
Psych-Out: "Tell it again."
Scarlett: "You know the story. There was this Siegie who wanted to defect. Seems he had gotten used to the cushy lifestyle of the American upper-middle and didn't relish the idea of life under Serpentor. He promised us crucial information about Serpentor's forces if we could safely extract him and his family from New Moon, Colorado, where he had been stationed in a sleeper cell. This was still at the beginning of the war, back when we thought we could turn the tide. Anyway, Serpentor caught wind of this, and ordered and all out assault on New Moon. He ordered his men to destroy everything and kill everyone in their path. He wanted to send a message to the rest of the Crimson Guard about how traitors would be dealt with, and to us. This was shortly after he had seized control of NORAD and everyone was afraid he'd start firing nukes left and right. He wanted to show us that he didn't need WMDs to level entire cities. So what started as a simple extraction of a defecting agent became a large-scale rescue operation. And, of course, we still had to get the Siegie and his family out. Hawk put Snake Eyes, Spirit, Mirage and me on that one. By the time we were inserted, New Moon was a war zone. People were running through the streets, trying to escape the Vipers who were gunning them down in droves. I remember seeing an explosion in the distance, and Hawk saying on the comm that they had just blown up the hospital. Anyway, we found the Siegie, his wife and his two kids and loaded them into our truck. The Siegie was a professional, so he was no problem, and his wife and son had enough sense to just shut their mouths and do what they were told. But his daughter...that damn brat wouldn't shut up about wanting to go check on her friends, and trying to order us to go look for them."
Psych-Out: "The daughter in question is Ophelia, correct."
Scarlett: "Yeah, that's right. So we're trying to get the hell out of dodge, and all the while this stupid kid is jabbering in our ears. We were almost to the extraction point when they sent in Nemesis. You don't know hell until you've seen that thing."
Psych-Out: "I've read the reports on--"
Scarlett: "No. You can't read about him and understand. First off, they airdropped him in. Just him in this steel shark-diving cage. The cage smashed on impact and he was on his feet before the dust settled. For something the size of a damn tank, he ran faster than we could drive. Everyone started trying to take him down. The amount of fire he was taking should have killed anything about ten times over, but he just kept moving. Mirage jumped out of the back of the truck to try and help a group of greenshirts he was tearing apart. None of them made it. He bought us time, though, and we thought we had escaped. Then this giant piece of...hell, I think it was the front half of a car, came flying at us. Nemesis had thrown it. The Siegie's wife and son died in the crash, but the guardsman and his bratty daughter were still alive. Spirit, Snake Eyes and I pulled them out and started dragging them as fast as we could towards the extraction zone. And I think we would have made it, too. Nemesis was slowed down by a group of greens who had managed to hold him off for a few minutes by dropping about half a building on him. But that's when that brat did what she did."
Psych-Out: "What did she do?"
Scarlett: "The idiot broke away from me and started running back toward the wrecked truck. I don't know if she thought her mother and brother were somehow still alive, or if she just had a death wish. And Snake Eyes, being Snake Eyes, went after her. Meanwhile, Spirit and I got the Siegie to the helicopter. I tried to go back, but a group of Vipers discovered us and we had to hold them off. And Snake Eyes did get to Ophelia, and got her back to the landing zone. But by that time, Nemesis was right on his heels. As we started to take off, Nemesis began throwing chunks of debris at us. Snake Eyes...he jumped out at the last minute, right as we were lifting off, and jumped right at Nemesis. He held him off so that we could escape. I begged everyone in the chopper to go back to help him, but...the Siegie and his damn daughter were the priority."
Psych-Out: "I saw the footage from the security camera they recovered...the one that caught the battle. Snake Eyes put up one hell of a fight."
Scarlett: "I doesn't matter. He still lost."
Psych-Out: "And that's why you attacked Ophelia?"
Scarlett: "I can't stand that little whelp's gall. She got him killed!"
Psych-Out: "She was a child, Shana."
Scarlett: "She was old enough to know what she was doing. And now she struts around acting like he was her mentor. She got him killed."
Psych-Out: "Shana, you attacked her for that? You *sound of papers shuffling* gave her a broken nose, two broken ribs, a dislocated jaw, and a sprained leg. Does that make it all better to you? Do you think that is what Snake Eyes would have wanted?"
Scarlett: "No. It's what I wanted. And it didn't make it better. But it did feel damn good."

....and if you read, thanks for reading. Here's the picture.

I like the card-art of the VvV Scarlett, but not the figure (way too anime...huge shoulders...weird proportions). I wanted to give her a bit of a hard-edged look. I also wanted to go 25th style, but I hate all of the 25th female sculpts except Lady Jaye (and I was fresh out of them in my fodder bucket). So I did a ton of sculpting on a 25th Scarlett.
RotS Scarlett
