I wanted to do a 1/18 scale custom of Aquaman for a while, but the parts never cliqued for me. I bashed together the SHS figures and got a chance to really test out the kneadtite for the first time. He has an elbow joint in his neck that gives him a little bit more up and down articulation for swimming. I apologize for the Namor trident. It is a stand in until I can find another one. I made one for him but must have misplaced it during the holidays.

head: Chap Mei diver
torso and arms: SHS Capt. America with kneadtite
waist and thighs: SHS Wolverine with kneadtite
feet: SHS Cyclops
trident: SHS Namor

Looks awesome! If I can get a hold of another Wolverine I'm definitely stealing that! :-D

A) Nice photo work.

B) I was totally afraid this would suck when I saw 'SS Captain America' in the recipe. That fig blows so many goats.

C) This fig does not. Everything wrong with the body for Cap is perfect here for Aqua.

D) You sure that head's from ChapMei? It doesn't look goofy-exaggerated and looks an awful lot like the Military General head from Jurassic Park III's line.

The figure's gorgeous, man.

You took crappy fodder and not only made something good, but a recipe that's worthy of theft.

The painting is really clean and crisp-- especially the facial details-- and I really like your choice of those particular shades of orange and green. You could've gone in any number of directions (metallic orange, for instance), but you chose great toy colors that really pop.

Nothing about the custom looks rushed or forced, and I hope that if DC/Mattel ever put out a 1:18 line to compete with Hasbro, Aquaman turns out like yours.

Ah, classic Arthur. No hippie hair and beard, no early 90's Liefield inspired weapon arm, and no equally bizzare water hand.

Good old Aurthur Curry.

Good times.

He is really nice. I am directly against the opinion that Cpt America is a crappy figure though.

also

'torso and arms: SHS Capt. America with kneadtite'

What is kneadtite?

Sweet, P-Luv! My custom Aquaman was horribly disfigured in a freak AirSoft accident, so I'd been looking for ideas to rebuild him. I don't think I have to look much further....... (and I just got a Chap Mei underwater set last night at Big Lots, so I'm well on my way :D )
