Parts:

Head: SW Obi-Wan (Saga)
Torso, arms, legs: SW Moff Jerr Jerrod
Skirt: Emperor Palpatine (Ep. 3 I *think*)
Sawed-off Shotgun: Marauder, Inc.

Just a little something I felt like sharing here before I submit him. Padre was originally intended to be part of a special Vatican anti-paranormal squad in my Joeverse, but with the death of my Joeverse (simply decided it wasn't worth pursuing anymore), he was left "orphaned". That also means he doesn't get a background since I can't take the time to really write one up.

He's managed to resist me getting a good picture of him, though, until this past weekend when I finally got the lighting, etc., just right. Overall a simple custom to build, though getting the skirt off the Palpatine involved pretty much destroying that figure (at least from the waist down), and the skirt sticks out a bit in the back at the waist line...but still, I think he looks pretty cool, and the Obi-Wan head just sells it for me. He also came with a bag of goodies (wooden cross, hammer) but I dumped those afterward as they looked too heavily out-of-scale to use.

So Padre, when you were stakin' that vampire did you get a little wood? Some teak? Mahogany?

Very cool Doc, definitely dig the idea of a Vatican supernatural hunter.

I'm getting a real John Carpenter's Vampires priest vibe from him. Very cool and a great outside the box figure. Nicely done!

With Cap's set in the back ground I thought the first pic was a movie still. It took me a second to realize this wasa toy. Fantastic job with your part choices.

Well, I kind of did borrow from that...remember the priest who gets killed early on (the master vampire literally makes him blow his own head off with the sawed-off?) He was in my mind the whole time. I also borrowed somewhat from a B-grade horror movie I saw years ago about such a Vatican team and the priest who led it...can't recall the title (and it wasn't a very good film) but the idea stuck. :-)

Cap definitely does excellent work, and I'll always be grateful for the effort he put into that set. I was determined to use it for the background (a bit tricky since one side blocks the light) but it worked out--better than expected. :-)

Parts choice began with that head--I'd had it laying on the table and really, really wanted to use it (the Obi-Wan heads they've put out are among the best done of the SW line, I think, be it Saga or Episode figures) and the idea for Padre popped into my mind, that head was right there--the fierce look and the beard sold it. It was actually harder to come up with the body parts (thanks to Viperlord for the Emperor Palpatine skirt, which really made the figure); I would have added a crucifix on a chain as well but don't trust my painting skills enough, so I left it off.

That figure/character is so badass that I got chills just looking at it.

Imagine him facing the Sabbaticus... :shifty: .

Thanks. :-) And feel free to steal it. The Imperial Officer torso will work just as well as the one I used (there's a very slight difference between the two but not enough to really matter) though not sure about skirt alternatives offhand. And there really just isn't on Obi-Wan head out there that isn't cool, so that's easy. :-D
