I always like the character of Blackout but never liked his figure. As I was putting together a figure I thought it would work well as BO. Here he is...

Head: Blackout
Body, Arms: VvV SE
Upper Legs: Grunt
Lower Legs: VvV SE
Hands: Parts bin

He carries 2 silenced Mac10s, a pistol on his boot, a knife down his spine, and of course his trusty Sniper Rifle.

That's not RAH, that's new sculpt. Your topic is misleading.

Whichever style he is, it is a good take on him.

Thanks man.

I didn't know mislabeling a figure would be such a big deal. I was looking for some feedback on the custom not the title. I put a lot of work into him and it seems that can be over looked.

Not really familiar with the character so I guess I ought to trot on over to YoJoe to find pics...and I'm still trying to figure out the line between RAH and new sculpt myself, so i don't have much of a clue. Either way, I like how he looks...and I'd like some closeups of the details, too. Sometimes when a figure is so dark it's hard to pick up on those little things you've done. ;)

Firstly, that looks really nice from what I can see, hella more believable than the gawky Hasbro version. A few more pictures would be nice though, so we can get a better feel for what you put into the custom and how the colors work for him.

Also, a quick tutorial... Of course you were posting for comments on the custom and not the title, I mean you had no idea you should be aware of landmines near your computer when you posted him. And on the internet, well, not everyone tries to be diplomatic. Anyway you can avoid losing any limbs in the future now:

- "RAH" is the common term for the customs using parts from the now stale, outdated toolings that made 1982-1994 run of the toyline.

- "Modern" or "new sculpt" are the most common terms for customs using the really proportionally challenged toolings of the 2002-2006 line.

- "25A" or some similar variation are most common nicknames for the repaint-happy, awkwardly articulated, and completely addicting 25A line.

Thanks for the heads up and clarification.

I'll try to take some more pics today when I get a chance.

He looks short, but he has a lot of guns, so I wouldn't tell him, :)

I like the holsters.

He looks short in this pic but he's not. When next to other figs he's the same height. The holsters are just VvV Destro's belt cut and glued. They fit the Mac10s perfectly.

I know the mislabel may not seem like a big deal, but there is a noticeable division between ARAH fans and New Sculpt fans. I'm an ARAH fan, and I don't know New Sculpt parts well enough to see how much work went into the custom. I also find the style unappealing, so it's hard for me to offer constructive criticism. With the way the title is, you're getting ARAH fans clicking on the thread and, if they're like me, seeing nothing they like. Meanwhile, New Sculpt fans see a thread titled RAH Blackout and pass over it expecting it to be in a style they don't like.

It's easilly fixed, however. Just click Edit to your first post in the thread. You can change the title to New Sculpt Blackout.
